Beat Carlton and we're top 8

Hard to beleive, that if we beat a "tanking" Carlton this week at home, we'll probably be back in the top 8. And with only 1 game seperating 9th from 2nd, in the mix for top 4.

Yep, as I've said in the 2007 thread, most of the top 8 play each other this week so we can realistically expect to be 1 win from 3rd by the end of it - as long as we do the job on Carlton!

We should do Carlton easily, but now i've put the mozz on them.IMO the only game that is a 50/50 is the wet toast game as i think we can win the rest.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

We could win this weekend and be in the 8...and lose the week after and be out of the 8 again etc etc

We could win every game till the end of the year....or we could lose games to the Eagles, Collingwood and StKilda, etc...we could lose to Brisbane who have just beaten the Eagles in Perth...so are no easybeats

I know its a cliche...but lets just take one week at a time...and win every game that we get ourselves in a position to win

If we beat Carlton we might only move up to 9th place if Port beats the Evils at AAMI, which is quite possible given the Mullets form at the moment and teh possibility they could be playing with Judd and Kerr.

Freo flogged Carlton and we flogged Freo. This season has been full of those weird concepts that it hurts my head, I mean, we flogged the Hawks, then got done by the Pies and then the Pies got done by the Hawks... owch

We will flog Carlton (who'd be a member on Monday next week if we didn't?) and this is our REAL launching pad for 2007. So many false starts but Sydney rampaged over Freo. There is no more room for error, no more lines of defence to hold out the rest...Sydney should start to humm from here on.

I feel better if Barry Hall was fully fit but we have to learn how to deal with that.

A few things to take note of....

Carlton haven't won against us in Sydney since 1993
Carlton are on track to have the 4th worst "points against" in history, ranking them up there with the great defences of Sydney 1993, Fitzroy 1996 and Richmond 1989.

That and it appears that they are already starting to go the "tank"
              Once was, now elsewhere

                And finally,

Carlton have to lose all t6heir remaining games to get the First draft pick, courtesy of the rule that they haven't got over 16 premiership points in two seasons.
