McVeigh down to the Magoos - I can see it coming

Anyone who thinks Roosy isn't clever, imagine this classy chess move...with Monty due to come back in this week or next, the only logical step is to drop McVeigh as the rest are in good enough form:

    Davis
    Schneider
Schmidt (he's really hitting top level now)
    Matthews

There really isn't any choice and Monty will return as we know those stints in the Ressies are always temporary.

It's true I am speculating, however Macca's run and miss into open goal was crucial and unacceptable (as a cherry to the rest of his poor form). He did a couple of ok things in the back half but we don't need Nic Fosdike 2007 and Nic Fosdike 2001 version running around do we?

      More like saddington of 2007

McVeigh reminds me of Jason Saddington. Plenty of promise, just waiting for him to come of age. The big perfomance is just around the corner. It never arrived. Look at Saddington these days...traded to Carlton and struggling to get into the starting line up in a struggling team. There are other players who we should be developing rather than him.

Why is Monty due back? He was dropped for poor form not for injury.

The time to drop McVeigh was last week, not this week. I thought he did some decent things yesterday and deserves another game.

The only reason you drop a player like McVeigh is to find form in the reserves and considering he found a bit in the seniors, why would you drop him now?

Another game for Amon in the reserves won't hurt him.

Hmmmm, I think there's perhaps some sort of lining up of some planets for the make or break Eagles game. Can't believe there's a suggestion Hall won't go to Perth though.

                a couple of names

I would like to say Keiran Jack...but unfortunately we can't pick him!

I would have left Laidlaw in or given Moore a go.

Just to add to my previous comment. If McVeigh had nailed two of three chances he got yesterday...no doubt i wouldn't have posted this. So perhaps I am being a bit harsh on the kid. But geez when is he going to show some confidence and poise. If you were the coach no doubt you would be pulling your hair out. He is given every opporutunity and just doesn't step up to the next level. Maybe give him a different role than tagger/ run with player and place some pressure on him to deliver. I don't know for sure but he can't be left to just drift along like he is at he moment.

Maybe play him next to BBBH or Micky O and give him a brief to keep the ball in the forward 50 and try and scrag a few goals??

                  Donk for Hall?

Bevan perhaps? Possibly Schmidt, although I hope that's not the case.

The bloods code has ushered in some very strange methodology for measuring performance (we can only speculate what goes on in Roos' office on Monday mornings) however I can't believe any system would have Bevan's recent contributions above those of Schmidts.
