With his abnormally short arms I imagine it would be a given.

I think I read somewhere that the Eagles will have 6 players back, including Vanilla Ice.

As per my first post in this thread, I wont be surprised (but will be dissapointed) if Roos rests Hall this weekend.

Bummer about Kennelly, however Malcheskivioopsbsi seems to be filling Kennelly's role now.

And maybe Spida should be called Big Kev (http://www.smh.com.au/news/business/...9582720.html)?

Having that many players coming back from injury in the same week is risky as far as the weagles are concerned. I don't think all of them would be 100%, mentally or physically.

          Cousins and Judd won't play.

the question that must be asked though, is whether it is better to come up against a faltering weagle team that has a point to prove and season to restore? or an eagles outift travelling reasonably well, and more likely to be complacent?
the last time we played them the club was in some serious turmoil and they had several injury issues. they somehow managed to close ranks, play hard and beat us by that damn one point in that heartbreaker of a season opener.
having said that, i know we only played carlton, but seriously, was it not encouraging to see the swans play some beautiful attacking footy? passes were pinpoint accurate, plays executed to perfection and all players performing their roles very efficiently.

And in related news, Cousins set to line up against Swans.

Let's hope that when he encounters the boundary line, he runs across it and onto the ground, and doesn't try crawling along it while attempting to snort it.

Beware the wounded Eagle, me thinks! We should have smashed them in round 1 with their injuries but we managed to stuff it up, we should have smashed the pies with their injuries in round 12 but we managed to stuff that up also, I have far more confidence when we are playing a full strength side and know we have our work cut out for us.

I was impressed that they gave Spida the spokemans role so early for the Weagles game, every paper carried his 'We are going to have a crack' as virtually a headline grab, he said let them put up their best list for the game, very good gamesmanship for another must win. That would have been authorized by Roosey... he's definitely plotting to win.

                    Hall and Kennelly in doubt

The Swans are considering flying to Perth on Wednesday without the services of co-captain Hall (hamstring tightness) and rebounding defender Kennelly (sore knee).
                    We need them both!

Kennelly's mum & aunt are visiting at the moment and he wants them to fly home via Perth - that should be incentive enough for him to get on the field.

Should Tadgh have played on the weekend? It's not the first time he has been rushed into the side.
If it risks further injury I'd rather see them play in September.

                        In: Laidlaw/Grundy/LRT/Vogels?

Regardless of West Coast's relative lack of form at the moment, this week's game will go up a notch simply because of the recent history between the two clubs. Not sure it would be a great match to bring LRT back for when

                          a) his natural opponent against West Coast, Hansen, has been injured and is very much an outside chance to play

                          b) we have a couple of relatively easy (if any game can be described that way) games coming up against Richmond and the Dees to ease him back

                          c) he's not been looking overly confident in himself in the magoos.

If Kennelly misses, Laidlaw is the obvious replacement - adds something of the speed and long kicking ability of Kennelly, though clearly not yet anywhere close to Kennelly's class. Was stiff to be dropped after one decent game, the spaces of Subi should give him a chance to show what he's got, and there's no-one similar in better form in the reserves (if you agree with the official report from the weekend plus ORB's, rather than mine and BBB's impression that he was reasonably quiet).

If Hall misses, can probably toss a coin between Vogels and Grundy as to who gets the gig. The fact that Vogels didn't get a game this weekend might tilt things in Reg's favour.

I think this may be a danger game as the weagles are coming off an embarassing loss to Port. While Everitt,Malceski and Spiderman performed exceptionally against Carlton ,they carried some players who did not play well at all. There were some players with very low stats and each had fair game time. These players will need to step up on Saturday.
