Grundy kicks 7 in the reserves last week so he's brought in as a defender this week

He's in all sorts down there and has given away 2-3 goals by not being in position.

Goodes can hopefully get more of the ball in the second half when the Eagles tire. If Swans can start getting on top in the midfield more we are a big chance.

Well he kicked 7 in one half, first half was in defence where he had fun twiddling his thumbs. He has played in defence in the SANFL before he was drafted. I'll admit his positioning was poor a couple of times, but I'm sure he didn't expect Staker to grab that mark!

Cousins has had 20 touches, but most of them have been crap.
He's puffing like an old lady, so It will be interesting to see how he plays out the game.

Anyone know of a way in to channel 10 to complain about the commentary. They talk about this drug user like he is the messiah and I for one don't want to hear about it in the second half and if this network had any social conscience they would play down this knob's performance rather than salivating on his every touch. I bet there is no way in - they are untouchable these self regulated media wankers.

Pretty happy at half time although I'm somewhat worried with Leo off that Vogels and Grundy both have to go down back.

Hopefully ugg, this will tell us if either of them are up to it.

IIRC, Vogels and Grundy both made their names as key defenders. I think Grundy is too slow and Vogels, well he needs to stop making basic mistakes.

Thank goodness for ROK - too bad about Hall and Kennelly being out. You realise how huge the step up from Canberra is when you see the difference in the skills and awareness.

And the week before he was named BOG playing the whole game at CHB / FB against the strongish Belconnen.

Tis actually a pretty good game thus far. Very tough in the clinches, both teams having periods of dominance but failing to capitalise, and both teams proving adept at scoring on the rebound.

We have to hope they tire a bit in the second half and that Leo and Magic are OK to keep going.

Crap and soft. I'm not denying Kerr and Cousins are superb players but their possession counts are inflated by lots of short hand-ball pass offs, often multiple times in one passage of play. That doesn't mean we can't admire their ability to win the hard ball too - just that it's that, not 30 odd possies that determines their quality.

Bevan having a shocker, Schneider awfully absent, Spida getting hosed by Cox in the ball-ups, Grundy not even ordinary down back, McVeigh and Matthews surprisingly acceptable, B1/B2 now make me nervous when they're in possession, Vogels to improve in the second half, Nick Davis to take over the scoring from ROK.

Scrappy, scramble ball keeping us in the game as usual. I mean why mark the ball when you can fumble it to the boundary. ROK, MOL, Goodes, Eski are making the game enjoyable.

Only way is to write into them, can't email and can't phone BUT I would write to the Daily Telegraph en masse.

The way that the commentators are continually deifying cousins you'd think he had been 6 months out of the game with cancer rather than the reality which is that he is a drug addict.

Mind you, all that time on ice has really done his game a lot of good though - looks really healthy and fresh. They say that metamphetamines does that to you - takes out all your body fat and leaves you lean and hungry - you can run all day, but eventually you just keel over and die. In between you start acting irrational, doing things like running from booz buses, getting into fights etc.

A couple of the umpiring decisions have been pretty average and as usual, its the ones they don't pay that seem to go against us.

Overall, an enjoyable half of footy and considering we have two of our best of the ground and a third pacing the change rooms with a dud hammy, a magnificent effort from our boys. If we are to win this, we need an even performance from every one of the guys out there. Time for a few favourite whipping boys to shake the monkey off their backs.
