Is the Eagles game now a 'should win'?

Granted, this is jumping the gun somewhat as we've not even played against Carlton yet, but .....

Having seen the Eagles' last 2 games (at the moment they're 80 points down to Port late in the fourth, and that's flattering), I believe that the game over at Subi has swung from a 'would love to win, but certainly not counting on it' to a 'should win, and could really boost our (slim) hopes of a top-4 finish'

    Thoughts?

They look pretty average at the moment don't they.

They might bring back Cousins next week which will fuel emotion of course, and have Kerr back in the side, so their structure will change. I think the obvious injury problems that Judd is having are causing their biggest issues. Very much lost when he is not playing or not firing, very similiar to Carey/North Melbourne in the 90's.

Should win I guess..but we should have won Round 1 in theory.

Win this and next week and our chances for Top 4 are very much GAME ON. Win tomorrow and we are one win from the Top 4, win next week and we are on par. Massive, massive game next week.

Should beat Carlton and Richmond with ease, the West Coast game will be the maker or breaker you would think.

Still a long way short of a 'should win'. But we have a pretty good chance if we are playing well, although we are still well off that.

Now that Port have won we have to win by about 80 to get to 8th.

Or should we say the Eagles will be even more pumped for our game.

The issue is are the Eagles going through the mid season slump that you "have to have" before the Finals, and are the Cats due for a fall?

Do we all remember at this time last year the Crows were outright favourites for the flag and burning until their form slump.

There'll be a point in it!

Their forward line looks broken down without Hansen. If we stop playing stupid footy then we are in with a good chance.

I doubt Judd will play next week. They need him for the finals and if they keep playing him now, they will be without him if they get there. If we turn it on tomorrow then I will really look forward to the game next Saturday.

They looked @@@@e today - if we're dinkum there's never been a better time to take them at Subi, even with some "ins".

It's definitely a "should win" if we want to finish in the top 4 and given our poor performance in Round 1, it's an opportunity to kick them while they're down. Given their form, a loss to Sydney is a major disappointment.

I reckon lets worry about next week after tomorrow. The Lions won in the West after being rank outsiders last week and there is bound to be some sort of let down after the "milestone" madness last week.

no letdown at all by the Lions, but then again, they did play Melbourne. But you're right, lets belt the living daylights out of Carlton first!

Sorry, I meant that we "the Swannies" may have a let down after all our milestones last week. What I meant by the Lions was that they were rank outsiders to win against WC (like Carlton V us) and yet they won. This could be a danger game for us.

Yep - they need to concentrate on this game first. Carlton are certainly capable of producing an upset.
