I thought it was good to see McVeigh back in the forward line. However, he still made some disappointing errors. I'm still not convinced he's turned the corner.

As for J Bolton, definitely his best game for the year, but playing one of the bottom teams and not being tagged, plus also benefitting from Everitt's gifts, helped a lot. Let's see how he goes in a real game.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I've been really mad he's still been in the 1's, but McVeigh seized his opportunities against the blues, it will give him some confidence for the immensely tougher assignment sat nite. His goal tally this year is woeful. A great relief to see him slot one.

Mc Veigh is a frustrating prospect because he is likely to be dropped - go to the magoos and kick a bag. One ressies game last year he kicked 8 straight or something which featured 3 or 4 from the boundary line. Yet he just doesn't look like he belongs in the big league. The quiet word in the ladies stand on Sunday is that he has been carrying a groin injury over the past month....but imo at this stage in the season, either step up, take a rest or go back to playing Canberra...

Specialist small forward with occasional rotations through the middle, is his gig. (Hey, everyone bar BBBH and a few defenders gets the occasional rotation through the midfield at the Swans.) Has a good goal-sense, gets in the right spots around forward 50 stoppages and can lead-and-mark on occasion, too.

21.7 in 2006 didn't happen by accident. (Albeit until this week he was headed towards more like 7.21 this year.) He's a fine kick for goal, and just needs/needed to get his confidence back.

If he wasn't dropped around the round 11/12 mark, he's hardly going to be dropped after that game. Now I've said that, just watch 'em drop him.

McCrap was hardly sighted in the first half - ordinary disposal in the second against ordinary opposition.

If he comes out this week picks up 20 + quality possensions and kicks 2 - 3 goals we could probably start asking "has he turned the corner?"

What has been the point in keeping McCrap in and not giving Laidlaw 4 -5 games to see how he goes?

                Cheers

Triple M - Much Maligned McVeigh (also works for Lady McMahon at the Bullies) has seemed too defensive and as a result, hesitant; like the whole brand was until Roosy loosened the shackles a bit. I listened to most of the game but I haven't seen it yet, replay's on tomorrow but a spell up forward sounds like it could be just the medicine he needed.

After the Collingwood game I was, finally, for dropping 3M (and Jude), and the HTB against the Weevils scarred me for generations but just last season he kicked 20 (21?) and was 10th in the Skilton. If, like Goodes, O'Keefe, and maybe B1 and Scheider, McVeigh has finally gone to the Lost and Found to reclaim his touch? Welcome back into the team a hard running, penetrating, goal kicking utility.
I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

How anyone can get even a little excited by the better contributions of B1 & McVeigh playing against Carlton is beyond me. Mc Veigh stills looks extremely soft to me...B1 gave me a bit of hope...but not a real test against a team that has no idea how to play defence.

Any form's good form Gary just as long as it gives them confidence.Dont forget WC are not traveling that good either and their form has been well below their best, and the following two weeks we have the Tigers at home and Melbourne at home so hopefully they will gain some really good form and confidence over the next 3 weeks.Which will lead us into the finals.

A "half decent game" against pathetic carlton, where he was under no pressure...please !! For all those who say he tackled well..??He was credited with 1 tackle....thats when he fell on a carlton player who went in under a pack and won the hard ball...hardly a tackle, he doesn't tackle..He holds his arm out like a turnstyle, and his oponents simply run through it. Does anyone here seriously think he will be an asset in a big pressure game ??? ie A final ?????He just did what he always does....just enough to hold his place. Let's hope the Bombers agree with all those who think he's "turned the corner", I for one would love to see the McVeighs reunited at Essendon
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

Going by SMH, looks like Hall out (groin - going for those bizzare flying leaps, what was he thinking), Kennelly out (Knee), 3M will stay in, hope Vogels comes in. Don't know much about Laidlaw, can the L.Fan Club tell us more about his capabilities.
If only more would give as many leads as ROK does during a game.
Does anybody know what coaching staff went to the Weagle v. Power game?
The Power were fantastic, seem to run WC off their legs.
