This is a joke with all the victorian sides either playing at the "G" or "TD",to them theres no such thing as a home or away game theres no advantage besides money when playing in victoria.

My point is GS14 that the Vic teams play home and away games at the G and TD so there is no disadvantage to them like we have when we play at TD or the G.Theres no home advantage or away disadvantage.

It's not different to VIC teams playing their home games interstate. Or Eagles/Freo and Port/Crows.

All Vic teams (Except Geelong) have not had a true home ground advantage, since the demise of the suburban grounds. Pointless to complain about it.

Anyway, it hasn't helped them for most of this century. When was the last Vic team to win a flag?? 7 years ago.

The difference is you get the likes of Collingwood who play 17 games in Melbourne. Which means a whole lot less travel. 14 of which are at their own home ground, another 3 or so 2k's away.

Sydney play 12, of a possible 22 in Sydney. 3 of them at TS which is hardly our home ground.

Brisbane is slightly better as it has 12 home games at home, and one at Carrara...

Adelaide, port, illegals and frockers all get 14 home games courtesy of being a two team town.

No matter which way you cut it, Sydney travels further, more often and plays away form home more than any other team.

I understand the basis of your argment RP, but what about the Swans games played in Canberra? Aren't they similar to the Lions at Carrara?

Geelong don't play all of their games at their home ground either.

I hate the way the draw works but with the amount of games set in stone each years its always going to happen that Vic teams have what is called a 'soft' draw. Collingwood is the prime example. Its not going to ever be solved unless everybody plays each other twice but it could be improved significantly if so many of the matches that are set in stone each year are more flexible- thus with the exception of maybe the anzac day clash there should be more flexibility so that the draw can overally be a little bit fairer to every team. But its always going to be a difficult one to fix.

But dont we only have 11 in Sydney this year- 8 at the G and 3 at Telstra and then there are 2 in Canberra(The dogs home game was in Canberra rather then Sydney.)

I don't think all Vic teams get a soft draw, it seems to me it's the Pies that get it easy year in and year out. Richmond had a particularly mongrel draw this year. I know they would have been crap even if they had the Pies draw but what they copped certainly didn't help their cause.
