Away game... No excuse not to turn up at The Alexandria hotel for a few beers...

Those that don't know it, it's probably the most ridgy didge Swans Pub in Sydney.

Conveniently located in Alexandria means if you can make it to a home game, you can make it to the away game!!

Multiple rroms/environment for the lads and families. Relatively cheap meals and great staff. Harry the publican, is always friendly and keen to make you feel comfortable.

If you haven't been there before, Saturday night will be a good occassion to test it out.

See you all there. I'll be the one screaming at one of the dozen or so plasma screens they have...

If you get there at 4 won't he have a hard time focusing on the tele by the end of the match?

Love to join you, but I'm afraid I won't be able to this weekend (even if I was offered a lift ), the commute's a bitch!

                Frankly, I'd love one.

But I'm in Lombok. You can't get there by bus...

I'll be going down the Happy Cafe in Senggigi at 11:30 to try and wrestle one of the TVs off the Soccer fans to watch the game on Australia Network. But I might have to watch the Rugby first, which is at 3:30. Come to think of it, I might be the one having a hard time focusing on the tele!

Anyway, thanks again. I'm sure I'll find myself in Sydney again one day and I'll definitely take you up on the offer then!

Remember to get a good jog up before getting in.

The car, even when the hand brake is on, goes at approximately 10 km an hour.

A weird discrepency for cars in NSW apparently

You're more than welcome to! That goes for all of you.

I can't find any one here that I don't have to explain the rules to, let alone enjoy watching the Swans.

Saturday day games are at 11:30am so the bar tender at Happy's and I enjoy an empty bar where he pretends to work while I get drunk far too early in the day. He's now an fledgling Swans supporter, even though he doesn't have a clue what's going on. He does understand the "6 points between the big sticks rule" though.

Nice climate, cheap beer, satellite tele. There are worse places to be stuck.

I went there the night before I left town when we played Adelaide. There were a few keen Swans fans & a couple of feral Crows. But at night the place gets filled with the normal trendy yuppie Alexandria crowd. They look at you as if you are a fool or pathetic if you yell out or barrack.

Get in early and get a good sport. Because the trendies wander in and have a nice old chat right in front of you when you are trying to watch the game. And can often be completely oblivious to the fact it is even on (let alone the fact that people actually care).

Meanwhile in Melbourne there will be the regular crowd at the Danish Club. veryone will be there to watch the game, lots of Swans colours on show. A few people may start drawing on each other if they are bored . But it is OK.

Now that the 'cave' downstairs is smoke-free I'll be heading down early to nab seats near the smaller two tvs. One can have the footy (of course with sound) & I hope to get one to have the Japan game from Hanoi on Fox so I can watch both games.
