Here was I thinking of going and watching. The Wildcat are crap, that match was always going to be a waste of time.

And we wonder why our youngsters struggle at senior level....

They'd almost be better off not playing at all.

Buchanan and Laidlaw would have been more useful in Perth

After the insipid performance by some of our midfielders tonight you would have to expect Buchanan to come in next week. Trouble is Schmidt will probably be the one given the flick, although he was far from our worst.

At least Buchanan is a gut runner unlike a certain blonde favourite.

Ablett, Bevan, Grundy and Vogels should go.

White would have to be close now wouldn't he?

Laidlaw, Buchanan and LRT should return next week.

Absolutely agree. Even if he's not completely match fit he would have been a far better defensive option that Grundy.

                    Oh my God, it continues.

Surely, we are not going to go through this again next year.

Evidence - Grundy, Vogels, Bevan et al.

Too easy at that level - how the bloody hell are defenders supposed to learn? Forwards - well it is lead to the right spot and so on. Defenders need to learn how to read the play, block, cut off leads etc etc.

Huge mistake going in this league and a prime example is to compare players who came from the VFL days: O'Keefe, Kennelly, Ablett, Fosdike, Bolton and LRT. I forgot Buchanan as well. Stevens seems to be doing reasonably well for Adelaide too.

Since then we have gone backwards in junior development (admittedly with a better side) but maybe the better side was due to the growth of these young players. I may be wrong but all of them played in the 2005/2006 GF.

This must be the last year.

Couldn't agree more! How does a defender learn to defend if he doesn't have to in the Reserves.

The reserves competition is an absolute joke. If only they were playing in a real comp like the VFL, then maybe our lesser-known players can have more confidence facing real opposition when they get called up to play AFL footy.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Said it before I will say it again, the sooner Sydney are away from the substandard comp that is the ACTAFL the better the young players and those on the fringe of firsts selection will be.

                            I have a proposal.

Why don't we shorten a field by about 30 metres and have all of our reserves playing in a 10 on 10 match against eachother each week.

I'm just joking, but that would be better than playing in that rabble of a competition.

Another challenging game for the reserves to cut their teeth on...

Seiously, you'd drop anyone that didn't score a goal wouldn't you??? No idea where to, but you'd have to let them know how hopeless they were...
