I would have thought he was playing reserves to get a bit of match fitness, and some touch back....

A tall, unfit quite unco man is not something we have needed. Let him be match ready, then he comes in - which could well be this week. (or our hand is forced with Leo out anyway).

Agree Mase, the last thing you want is for him to come back half fit and do hammy. He had no preseason and big blokes take a bit longer to come to hand.

So if LRT doesn't come in, who does?

We really need another tall defender.

He's been noticeable in his absence from best player lists for the past month - maybe not fairly, since in one game I watched I'd have had him in the top half dozen.
I thought I saw it in a report. Maybe it was the old injury report.

I think he must come back this week whether he is ready or not. We simply dont have a choice- we need that extra tall defender and he is our only option (Grundy and Vogels are just not up to AFL standard playing in the backline). And it is the perfect week to get him in- in a match where even if he struggles we should still win fairly comfortably and with another match against a team struggling next week. That would get him 2 weeks to get some AFL level match fitness back before we play the crucial match against St Kilda.

I think LRT's contribution when fit and playing well is underrated by a lot of people and I would really like to finally see him back in the team. We have defended well this year but not well enough against the better teams. And I see LRT as being part of our best defensive line up.

                    BLT to Schultz this week.

                    Bring back BLT!

It will be the start of our streak. BLT is our answer to Hansen. (Not the mmm bop variety)

LRT to come in only if fit and ready. I'd like to see Grundy given another go though. Its bloody unfair to give a guy one game and send him back to Canberra for 2 months, and its been happening for years! Yes, Im well aware that we've had a good run with injuries and he has had to bide his time, but now is a chance to give him a proper crack and a couple of weeks in the seniors.

If Kennelly and LRT come back in, give Teddy a kick up the ass in the Capital.

Hall, Kenelly, Leo, B1, Everitt, Kirk and Mathews should all be rested this week. Bring in LRT and the other young uns and give them a run.

If they can't win this week, they ain't ever going to win.

Wouldn't that be good reason to play him so he is up to speed for senior footy when we meet the Saints? I don't imagine he will have quite as big a come back game as Cousins.

If they're serious about grooming Grundy for a key defensive post, I reckon they've got to give him another go this week - to take advantage of Leo missing. He'll probably get an opponent like Schulz or Riewoldt - ie less experienced than Staker. The ball won't (we hope) get pumped into our defensive area with quite the persistance it did last week. Maybe he'll have the confidence to take front position a bit more and back his own marking capabilities.
