A 'classic' fizzer - RWO match report Sydney vs West Coast

Damien made the long trip west last weekend and brought home with him a "live" report of the game.

    Read all about it here

Most of our reporters would really love some feedback from their reports, if anything to let us know if anyone actually reads them. We've been a bit light on this season so if you enjoyed the read, please let Damien know. Even better, if there is something you particularly agree or disagree with, constructive discussion is most welcome.

It was quote amazing that a team could dominate a qtr so much but be behind on the scoreboard, as WC were during that 1st term. They could have really put us away had they been more accurate.

Was the ROK mark in the last qtr(?) that wasn't paid a mark?
He held the ball longer than G Ablett did in the mark of the century, IMHO.

Damien report was good and acurate
Goodes was disappointing and on occasions he never matched up on his opponent Judd and needless to say what happened
I thought Reg was put down backline with some near impossible match ups
      Seaby etc.
The very inexperienced backline stuffed up a few times but they cannot take all the blame.
Leo went off at Malceski in one contest which saw the Eagles mark & I think goal. Mal forgot to spoil
I thought we lost overall as result of some our players especially the midfield not manning? upWest Coast brought the ball into their forward line too easy and uncontested which put enormous pressure on our backs.
We certainly missed both Kennely back and Hall's presence forward
I hope Leo's hamstring is not serious or we have huge defence problems
Teddy was like a female at the markets with no money evreywhere but nothing in the bag
      Schmidt tried hard
I really feel for the fringe players as I'm sure they are thinking in the back of their minds "i must do good or I will get dropped"
If they had a little reassurance I think the pressure would lift and they would play better
That's my two bobs worth on the game
      cheers

I thought that was an excellent report - really captured the feel and progress and outcome of the game.

          Fair assessment all round....

          Thanks for doing the report!

Though you did miss out on my favourite past time whilst visiting Perth, counting mullets... I once counted 11 between the city and Northbridge one friday night whilst walking between bars.... Stunning scenery... The real native environment of the mullet.... Pretty sure most were accompanied with desert boots as well but I was concentrating on the mullets themselves so can't be 100% on that count..

thanks for the well documented report Damien, it's a long and expensive trip. I did it in 2005, if Goodsey had been paid the trip......

The WCE were hellbent on winning that game and got their swarming forward thrusts working to perfection in the third. I'm glad it wasnt the Granny.

Eagles fans started to look seriously stressed in the FQ. There were a lot of positives for Sydney, without Hall, McVeigh, ROK, Magic took on more responsibility. Spida was pretty usighted after all his talk during the week.

thanks for the on the spot report Damien.

I was at the game and thought McVeigh played Cousins too loose.
O,Keefe had a beaut game, with Kirk giving Kerr a game he will remember
for a long time. I expected Spida to have had more influence on the game
but he never rose to the occassion. Goodes was in and out of play and
had a couple of shocking disposals. Grundy did little and I couldn,t believe
that he had been selected again.
