    Mickey '0 still gettin '0-love???

I know we havnt been a powerhouse of a team this year but O'loughlin just never gets praised at all for his efforts this year. Never gets mentioned as an elite forward, they just drop his name with the others when talking about how powerfull front line we have and Im scared to think where we would be this year if he didnt have the year that he is havin. Nobody mentions his importance...

    is it just me?????

Certainly not just you D54, Micky has been "Magic" this year. It's been a long time since I have seen him able to put the work in upfield that he has this year.

      No argument here....

He's probably been our best all year. Excepting maybe Eski and Kirk. Definetly our best fwd.

Perhaps that's the issue?? Not controversial enough to get a mention here....

Not as good as he was from '99-'01 (elite player in the comp then) but still a very good footballer. Having a pretty good year.

He's definitely seems more accurate this year than he has been the past few, and also knows his limitations in terms of not taking shots from too far out. Sometimes frustrating to watch, but he's been my favourite since I first started watching football and still is. No-one in our team has the pure, silky hand skills that he has, IMO. Love watching him run at pace and pick up the ball.

The sharpest handballer in the league! (the fact I wear 19 has nothing to do with this comment).

I'm really unhappy about the first apostrophe.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

The gut is a freak. He just seems to pop up with goals when they are needed. He often looks like he is playing injured but quickly dispells that by doing something brilliant. He has been a wonderful player over the years.

Bit early for a testimonial thread...I'm hoping he'll get to 300.

Yea well my point was that he has been huge this year and as important as any Swan.

My point was/question is, is Mickey too often overlooked/underappreciated by the ppl that cover swans games and mention whats dangerous and important to our footy club. Does he get less recognition than he deserves? or is it that i am too biased as he has been my 2nd fav baller behind PK14, and my man love towards him is gettin outta control (LOL)???

On mickey and his freak ability, to me he is the Michael Jordan of AFL...i mean the style wise and player type...not worth
MJ seems to physically do everything perfect and smooth, and mickey is the same, and its a amazing that a guy known for athleticism and quickness is still doing what he does despite losing those qualities through age and injury. I watch him with amazement and the anticipation of him doin something freaky gets me too.

                          agree, wholeheartedly.
                          he's a legend - and indeed a freak!!
the respect the crowd showed him at the end of the record breaker a few weeks ago is a testament to how highly he is regarded at the club - by the club, players and fans. he even got the cover of the footy record that week.

                          i don't think he's under-estimated by any team.

i do know that when he retires, he'll be as sorely missed as kels (well, at least by me). we're lucky to see players of this calibre play.

His ability to trap a bouncing ball at full speed is quite amazing. Then either turn his opponent inside out, or the super quick handball, to a player running past are his greatest assets.

I don't think he is overlooked by the media. They all know how dangerous he can be, without being a prolific goal kicker.

... and he's an old man (well, by footy standards).
                              i love watching him play.
