What about when the time wasting begins and 2 or 3 players pass back and forth for several possessions. Imagine this goes on at the end of each quarter then a player could easily get 10+ useless possessions.

Are 38 possessions more important than 7 Goals? That's the amount of goals that Roos said Hall got in one particular game without getting a single vote from the opposition.

It's a matter of perception, effectiveness of those possessions and whether they actually hurt our team.

Also it's the old saying that they expect more from champions - Now how much more that's the question (perhaps 45 posi's) ?

It just confirms my belief that the Swans didn't pay enough attention to Cousins whether it be to rough him up a bit or to stop his influence and/or number of possessions.

For him not to be considered in the top 5 for the Weagles is a bit hard to swallow.

Ben Mathews writes a column in mX in which he said he was surprised after the game to see how many possessions Cousins picked up.

Pre-match, Roos was saying that he only expected Cousins to play 10 minutes a quarter.

So while not definitive proof, I am left with the belief from the above examples that the Swans underestimated Cousins before and during the game. Whether that would have made a difference in the end, who knows.

What about Joel Bowden in that debacle game against the Crows he got about 500 possessions that day and he was at best so-so.

In Charlie vote terms IMO the umpires would say no,but if i was giving the votes i would judge on the effectiveness of the possessions. If they were Joel Bowden possessions i would give the votes to the goal kicker.

I'm not sure that's true in today's footy.

I was at the game and was surprised when I heard on Sunday that he
had 38 possessions. Many were uncontested and had little impact on the
game. In the last 1/4 he had 3 or 4 in quick succession passing to a
team mate and return. McVeigh, I felt gave him far too much slack, but
BOG, no way. I would have given that to Hansen.

So let me get this straight....for a person to have a good game the opposition coach has to deem them worthy of having a tight tag....How many Brownlows has Adam Goodes won?
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

The illegals are the highest possessing team in the comp. In last years GF they had 100 more possessions than us. Chemical Cuzz had about ten shanks on my reckoning and at times he did circle handball training on the wing. Also the contempt drips from Rooseys comments. And for good reason.

Not these days. With the chipping around sideways, backwards and occassionally forwards it is easy for some one to pick up over 30 possessions. Players can do that and not had any impact on the game, to me that means they haven't had a good game.

Roos seems to have a standard for a former West Coast Captain and another for a former Swan's Cap'n . One will always wonder why? He wouldnt win a debate on this one.

39 Possessions.....too much of the ball...why are we constantly letting teams get too far ahead and then surging home.

Forget about Cousins, metrosexuals with feature wall haircuts deserve nothing. The less publicity we give this swine the better we all be.

Remember Angwin and co. from Carlton? Why wasnt Cousins dealt the same fate?
