Nope, he's settled into Sydney for good if the articles written about him are anything to go by. Like MOL, he was entertaining going home earlier in his career (and even then that was more Roos' doing, not him wanting to leave), but he's now a Swan for life.

I'd look to trade one of Fosdike or Jude Bolton.
Both are at their peak of market value, and I think both could be covered by players in the 2nd or seniors without a major impact to our midfield.
Neither will last more than 3 more years on our list as they arent the star type players who can be nursed into a forward pocket for longevity.
People saying we should trade McVeigh or Matthews need to realise they have little or no value on the market. We might get a late 3rd round pick at best. Either keep or delist. I vote keep. They provide depth if nothing else.Comment

I do think Doyle will go. He may actually be up for a trade as a number of clubs are short on ruckmen.
As for the others: No way they are going anywhere.
And as for likes of Laidlaw and other youngsters. I would think they'd be staying as long as they can get a contract with the Swans.
As Liz had pointed out several weeks ago, we have more of a problem figuring out who to delist than who is going to leave on their own accord.
If I had to guess now, I would say Doyle, Vogels and Brabazon look the most vulnerable from the senior listed players.
Jude would be a trade option, but I just can't see it happening.Comment

They'd probably be my guesses, but just as you think someone is most at risk, they pop up with a great reserves game (ala Braba last weekend) or get themselves selected in the senior team (ala Vogels a fortnight ago). Simpkin was another I thought might not quite have shown enough but he's been great for the last couple of weeks. And then the sudden launching into senior favour of Brennan (who I'd had down as an outside chance at best) throws another spanner in the works, particularly as I don't think he's eligible to remain a rookie next year.
I don't agree entirely with the comment earlier in the thread (Giant?) that other clubs won't be looking at our kids and won't rate them because none was particularly highly rated as a junior. Every club is on the look-out for youngish players who are more ready to play than 18yo draftees. The obvious place to look for quality is on the lists of well-performing clubs or those that have had very low injury lists. The combination of the two would have to put Sydney's list right at the top to have a squizz at. And every other club would be aware that our youngsters are unbeaten for two and a half years and have an average winning margin of over 100 points. Add to that Sydney's reputation for playing a very team orientated game and drilling its players very well.
I'd be amazed if there aren't clubs who regularly send scouts to watch our reserves play in the hope of finding someone yearning for more opportunities. It is much lower risk for them than picking an 18yo from the dregs of the draft.Comment

Fosdike an untouchable
Nic Fosdike is a true warrior who has shown to be one of our most consistent. Look at the 05 GF and this year in the face of his mates up and down form.
To throw away Fosdike would be ludicrous.
We will be keeping our youngsters as soon the dawning of a new era led by ESKI will be upon us.

no way would I want to see Fosdike Traded. He is a big game player and this year after a bad start has been very good most weeks. Jude Bolton however has really struggled this year imo and maybe could be there for a trade.
Doyle will imo definetly be on the move as his opportunities will be limited over the next couple of seasons here and surely the coaching staff will be looking to have a young ruckman ready to go when the end arrives for Everitt.
I still fail to understand our interest in Fev or where we would fit him (Unless Roos knows something about Hall that we havent heard), but I can see us having the bait to potentially set up a trade as Carlton desperately need some decent ruckment and Doyle fits that perfectly and Bolton is well rated in Melbourne. Maybe it could happen yet but I strongly doubt it.
