Tiges will take him for a first round draft pick.

But lets face it the opposition know other teams players better than their own so unlikely to figure in any trade talks. Sheeds if he goes to Melbourne might go for him because he tends to like the older type player.

Maybe Sheeds would be good enough to take both McVeighs as well

Liz's point about other clubs watching our 2's is very valid. eg. Thornton's brother plays for Freo and Brabazon won the U18 B&F in WA, so they may think these blokes are playing well enough and have developed both mentally and physically enough at Sydney to be cherry ripe for AFL next season.

Jarrod Moore is under contract, but I bet for not a whole lot, so a Vic club might reckon he is one who would step right into the midfield and pay his contract.

We tend to rubbish the Canberra comp but we might just be a very talented group of reserves. If Longmire gets a gig elsewhere I wonder if he will make a play for a couple of our younger players. Lyon took Garubba in the Rookie draft.

Not wanting to be pedantic (but I will be anyway ), his brother is a Weagle rather than a Docker. There is a Thornton on the Docker's list but Kristen's brother is Ashley, who is on the Eagles' rookie list (but possibly in danger of dropping off - he's in his second rookie list year and has been out for most of the season with an ACL - a pretty unfortunate combination).

Noone building would want him. Hawks would take him.

I think you got more than just his contract status right

I wouldn't be surprised to see Moore given the option of looking elsewhere - of course he may not want to.

And consigning him to one of the cellar dwellers may seem cruel, but I have no doubt he'd get regular senior footy at a Carlton or Richmond and would add a bit of grunt to their pretty light-weight midfields. Maybe even an Adelaide or Brisbane might find him appealing to complement some good running-type youngsters. The Dees probably need more outside, running types, because they already have Moloney, McLean and Jones as young hard nuts.

i still believe the tougher the game the better jbolton digs in..he has weaknesses..like goal snaps..but apart from bkirk he is the bravest player in the red and white..i think his clearances are fine
..its only the judds who land them all on a chest! it wd really surprise me if he was up for trade..and , of course, thoughts of getting rid of fossie are sheer lunacy!

How's B1 performed against the top tier teams? His only decent games have been against mediocre opposition, hardly digging in imo.

J.Bolton ranks second in the courage, in and under stakes. His last quarter against West Coast was excellent and he has played well since. Forget trading players like Doyle, Vogels or even the youngsters. They have no value and there are hardly any trades done now. I agree with Liz in that it is going to be very difficult to delist at the end of the year. Come the end of 2008 some senior players will begin to retire and then Moore, Laidlaw, Grundy, Thornton, Jack will get their chance. By then their bodies will have filled out and they will be ready for senior football. They are better off playing in Canberra than being beaten pillar to post playing for Richmond or Melbourne against bigger bodies. All of our drafts were taken well down in the draft in the knowledge that they were long term prospects. Long term means 5 years. That's why Brennan is picked short-term rather than a younger boy. Be patient!
