Would that also mean another rookie can be promoted for Faulks?

If they decide to do it, they must do it before c.o.b tomorrow (Friday)

There is a suggestion over on BF - by the pretty reliable Oldman Pop - that Jack has been promoted.

He was quoted as flagging that a few weeks ago. I guess we'll find out tomorrow one way or the other.

I hope so, Cracker's a given to be promoted at the end of the year, they may as well do it now.

I think that for us to even to think of underestimating Melbourne is rather arrogant (as with any side in the bottom 8)- as much as we would love to think that we will smash the Dees, we have at times lost the unloseable because we think the opposition are easy beats. Its also pretty insulting to the Dees as well - leave off half the Swans best -and bet your life the Dees would step up and beat us, when we can least afford to be beaten. It has happened before - it can happen again.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

It doesn't happen as regularly as it used to (when we seemed to play to the level of our opposition), and I can think of two reasons:

              1) All that practice that our guys get in the ACTAFL - they are just better at thrashing teams than they used to be
              2) The new TAB that has opened next to where I work, making it easy to put $10 insurance on the lowly-placed-opposition at the TAB (Melbourne are 8-1).

Pre-season was 20+ weeks ago, their form has changed. White is way off senior selection IMHO and DOK is injured.

Brennan will need to do something extra tomorrow to warrant retention...but I say again..we don't need another lousy kick on this team. He is a very poor mans Kirk. I am also amazed in the paper this morning to see Schmidt & Laidlaw left out while Grundy & Rishards are retained...Grundy was a bit better last week, but fair dinkum these two would be better placed as draughthorses pulling a CUB float.

Arguing for the inclusion of Schmidt and Laidlaw is one thing - but it would need to be at the expense of Mathews or Ablett or McVeigh or Jude B or Brennan or Monty or Schneider or Kirk ( ).

Schmidt is 181cm, Laidlaw 184cm. Grundy is 192cm and Richards 192cm. That should give a pretty decent hint at why those two are in the team over Laidlaw and Schmidt, particularly when you look at the rest of the backline.

Laidlaw could/should also come in for Bevan who also stands at 183cm. And Dempster at 191cm for Richards.
