Bad luck for both of them on their injuries. Both excellent players.

Unfortunate to see them retire but I guess it's no surprise when you think about it. Don't be surprised if Buckley also retires this year, he's kidding himself if he thinks he'll get back in peak physical condition.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Crouch has only played 5 of our last 30 games so might be in the same boat

Shame to see them both leave the game in the manner they have.
I wish them well in their post-game careers.
Too much dancing for Kouta?? Maybe he might open up a Dance school in his retirement.
I dare say Darcy will step into some sort of media role, which he has done on a casual basis, for the last couple of years. He is well spoken and usually makes sense. Has a good presence on camera.
Buckley has also been mentioned, and possibly Hird could be another to hang up the boots, esp. now Sheedy is going.

At best Crouch will play one more game to get to 200 I think. Amazing career - nearly all in one stint - one injury and it's all over.

Darcy's announcement made the conspiracy theorist in me come to the fore. Is he angling for coaching role in some capacity?
He is still going to play out the season so why announce his retirement now and not wait for round 22?
Good luck to both for them.
It also occurred to me that if you put Darcy's head on Kouta's body - you'd have the perfect man!
Darcy is made for television - he's a damn fine looking boy and can string a sentence together - he will be the new breed of footy "special comments" men.
Kouta will be able to go out dancing on a schoolnight now and not worry about pulling hammy whilst doing the foxtrot. the mirror ball will be installed in the Kouta dance hall/loungeroom next week.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Hirdy's made no secret of the fact this is his last year, right from the time in about October that he decided to play on. He and Sheeds will go out together.
There's a hell of a lot of big names leaving all at once.
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.
