Pretty irresponsible of C7. Aker did not name the player.
Gee, the game is copping a fair bashing. These allegations and the drug problems already publicised are killing the brand. Add the issue of tanking (which I related to "match fixing" in cricket), and you have a very bad image of the game...

And it's all coming from West Coast.
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.
I think this is one case where it's OK to blame the messenger.
If Aker had concerns he should have raised them privately, not in his newspaper column.
One has to wonder what drives Aker. Perhaps it's the fact that Michael Voss has been getting all the headlines of late and he's getting attention and relevance deprivation syndrome.
It must be difficult for him seeing the Lions playing so well while the Dogs look likely to miss out on the finals.
Wanker.
"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk
I don't see the AFL doing anything more about the testing unless they have a smoking gun and in the absence of that, Aker has used the media to his air his suspicions.
Now, when followed up by the agencies, he has named the individual in what someone could assume would be a very very carefully handled situation, however the name was leaked (that is a disgrace if it is the case).
Having said that, you can't rule out Aker opening his mouth to someone external to WADA and the AFL Medicos.

I don't understand why it has taken him so long to bring this up? If he had a concern and he knew who the player was, why didn't he voice his concerns immediatly, why now?

Hot on the heels of a 50 point thrashing at the hands of the Eagles. Usually Josh Wooton towelled up Aker in past contests.

Aker cracks me up. The game needs more people like him. People are afraid to open their mouths in case the draconian afl slaps a fine on them. He didn't name anyone. He did no wrong.
