    What do we need?

With only 4 rounds left in the home & away, I think it's pretty safe to say the swans recruiters should have a fair idea of what is needed/wanted for next season.

So what does everyone here think?

Is there a particular position we need to be recruiting in? Keeping in mind that Barry Hall, Brett Kirk and Leo Barry are getting no younger.... (OMG that's our spine!)... I'd say they've got 2 years max.

How are our youngsters viewed at the club? do they believe our guys are capable of making that next step?

Should we be sacrificing draft picks and trading for some talent? (ie. Fev), or should be build on a young list?

The next couple of years are going to be interesting as it will bring in a completely new era for the swans, and this is where it all starts. I look foward to seeing what unfolds.

I think Fevola is exactly what we need. He is a fantastic full forward, and would kick a 100 goals at the SCG. I know he's a peanut, but he's definitely what we need to be potent up forward. Bring him on I say!!!!!

Fev's been playing great footy lately, providing strong leads and kicking accurately and with power outside 50. He would be a great addition to the forward except I don't think he'll be leaving Victoria anytime soon and he might be just impressing Ratten so they won't have to trade him at the end of the season.

Obviously a tall forward who can take a lead is a must, especially since Hall and O'Loughlin will be gone sooner rather than later. A tall CHB or FB who can take contested possessions and won't look undersized against the likes of Lynch or Gehrig might be an option. Our midfield has been a bit of a liability over the past couple of years so we'll need good running midfielders who can kick accurately and pressure opposition players into clanger situations.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

So if we need forwards, defenders and midfielders we pretty much need a new team!
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

We don't need any forwards, what we need are defenders. And a classy, attacking midfielder with creative nous and a brain who can think for himself.

we'll steal a forward from st kilda in a few years time. Hawthorn also have an abundance of them, so perhaps we can flog one off them after bazza/MOL retire..

                Full Back
                CHF
                FF
                Inside Midfielder
                Outside Midfielder (with speed)

                They should be our priorities.

Full Back, because we have always needed one but have gotten by without one, because Leo Barry's years are counting down and KPP take longer to develop.

CHF / FF, Barry Hall will only be around for so much longer, and in any case Magic has never been a Full Forward. Better suited to pocket/flank.

Inside Midfielder - To replace Kirky, Schmidt could well be the player, but its always good to have another developing.

Outside Midfielder (with Speed) - The only outside midfielder we really have is Fosdike, and to a lesser extent Schneider. (and Goodes if you like?)

                Ideally?
                2 KPP
                1 Outside Midfielder
1 Inside Midfielder (if we use 4 picks)

I'm hoping this will be Malceski soon.
I can see him being that silky midfielder we need, much like Travis Johnstone

Sorry, I can't see the Hawks giving up Dowler anytime soon...

How are they going to fit this guy, an out and out full forward if ever there was one, in the team with Franklin, Roughhead, Boyle and Williams to come back in. Everyone has a price.

What would I give up for this guy? I'd give my right nurrie because i love the swans so much, but I doubt if the Hawks would trade for that.

Realistically, I'd give them a first round pick (to replace the one they used on him) and a second round plus a player of the ilk of Mathews, B1 or Fosdike.

Add Thorp to that list of forwards.

And I agree. It would be fantastic to get Dowler. Or Thorp. Recruit someone with siiize. Please. Anything but another Richards.

Of course we need a full forward of the calibre of Fevola, if only to keep the junk that creeps into our F50 who can't kick for goal to save their lives....
