Are they worth $100 or should i stick to the class 1 seats

NB: sandal underfoot conditions are important

I paid $50 for a concourse seat at the Gabba (Bay 34), which seemed a bit pricey to me. Reminds me what a bargain the MCG and Telstra Dome are.

Here here. I smudged over an old NSW half fare concession card I had 2 years ago when I lost my job & kept it. I show it to them down here & they look at it in complete confusion then let me into games for $11. Well, if I were paying full price I'd probably not go, so they are winning out in the end I get.

You wonder why going to sport is such an institution here. Because it is so cheap & it is so goddam easy. $18 adult tickets, unreserved seat (more often than not under cover, some even with padding ) Trains and trams right to the ground. It is just so easy to be honest.

Meanwhile the cheapest tickets you get for Homebush games are $29 for adults. Why are Sydney people so discriminated against in terms of the price they have to pay for decent tickets to the footy? Shouldn't the AFL have a uniform price across the board for match tickets, as they seem intent on controlling everything else.

Not sure if they are still available, but I ordered tickets through the swans membership. I think adults are about $35* and a family ticket of 2 adults and 4 kids is approx $75*, and I get to sit with other swan fans, which at the Gabba is very comforting, because the noise from the Lions fans is overwhelming....I've usually gone home with a headache, but when we beat them its worth it!!
*(give or take a couple of dollars)

We now have a Queensland Supporters Club up and running.

It has 45 members already. And when the regulars who go up each year from northern NSW find out, I can see these numbers increasing quite rapidly. It ain't cheap at $80 but you get a guaranteed seat with the Cheer Squad behind the goals plus all the other benefits of the normal Supporter Member Package. It is the reward of slick marketing and planning by Tony Morwood and his Melbourne office cohorts-it nets the club a nice little earner (especially when in the case of WA they can gain income from things like the lunch they had, plus all the merchandise the Melbourne Office gals bring over). And for people like me it is a godsend. No more cases of not filling two rows in the Cheer Squad in places like Adelaide & Brisbane. And subsequently not giving the team the support they badly need far away from home.

It is a good way to be at least directly involved in supporting our club financially for those interstate who are attending only one game a year. You only need to see how much better things are in Adelaide now that we have over 300 members supporting the team all in one area behind the goals. The Port game last year was the first time I have ever left Footy Park not being intimidated by the SA footy experience; it was so strange turning around getting chants going with half the northern end joining in.

I can tell you it DOES make a difference away from home having all our supporters both loud and together. So join up you nth NSW/ SEQ listees so we can have over 100 people behind the goals next season up there.

              JF
PS:- The club in my view is run better than it ever has in its history in Sydney, thanks the the slick work of people like Myles Baron-Hay & Tony Morwood. What Myles has done in basically 4 years is nigh on a miracle & should be noted in my view. He is the architect of our 2005 flag I reckon, because he turned around a club that still had several fundamental things wrong with it into one that is disappointed not getting 50000 to matches like Saturday night's game. I mean nobody even whinges about the Sydney membership department any more; I almost feel a bit lost not having anything to complain about any more.

So does that mean that Sanjeev gets the night off?

I'm amazed at the pricing difference. Imagine my surprise when at the '05 granny rock up to the car park the little man at MCG the gate says "$6 please" and with a big smile ! I was shocked he asked did I think it was to expensive - I just couldnt believe how cheap it was compared to parking on the dirt arrangement with only 1 exit at each of the Moore Park. The thing is the price didnt go up last year at the MCG either to park still $6 - unlike the dirt across the road from the SCG - I think its over $20 now - thats why I park at Randwick Racecourse - its free!(shuttle bus is $5.30 return) I'm keen to see the ticket prices for any home finals here in Sydney - sure as eggs they will be more expensive than Melbourne - or anywhere else for that matter.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Looks like you can't buy tickets through the swans any more. The link goes straight to Ticketek general screen which doesn't give you much of a choice of seating.
Does anyone know if the unlicensed category at the GABBA means no beer?

No... It means that you can only park there if you don't have a valid drivers licence. But you can shoot things without a hunting licence. So it all works out in the end...

I bought my tickets through the Swans. Bit dodgy, didn't give me a receipt number, billed my credit card and haven't been sent the tickets yet!

I also bought my ticket thru the Swans and as yet have not recieved it thru the mail. They also screwed up my credit card details so I don't know for sure if they have billed me yet.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. This is the first time I have brought tickets through the club and I've been getting a bit worried. The payment has come out for them but I thought I'd have seen the tickets by now.
