Against the Roos earlier this season, late in the final quarter 2 non-calls on superb tackles cost us the match. I blame Demetri-ohoh and the footy establishment/bum sniffers. We play rugby and don't deserve the even-handed treatment from the vampires.

Both teams copped it tonight though. The RupeTel camerawork was the only thing worse than the vampiring. Oh, and Xman was pretty shock-o-riffic too.
I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

Umpire adjudged that Fraser managed to handball it - and I think that was correct.

Some of those HTB decisions last night were ludicrous. The one O'Keefe got was even worse than Ablett's. But there was a shocker played against McVeigh too, and some red hot ones all over the ground. Didn't keep count of how many shockers each team got, but we certainly got ours in more valuable positions.

Looked like G-String made no attempt to get rid of the ball until C Bolt had well and truely made the tackle IMHO, especially considering he had taken 3-4 steps running to a open goal so the prior opportunity was there.

A player's not obliged to try to dispose of the ball until he's tackled. Then if he doesn't get it away correctly he should be pinged if he's had prior. Watch a Weagles game and see the amount of time Judd and Kerr are routinely given to pass the ball off after they are tackled.

Makes a complete mockery of some of those pack HTBs where a poor player is pounced upon straight away - and very often where he's not really dived on the ball to start with.

Thought one of the HTBs against Hall was tough - was tackled immediately after taking possession, had his arm pinned so there was no way for him to legally dispose, and then got taken over the boundary line straight away.

His other HTB was almost my favourite passage of the game though!

Still beg to differ on the Gehrig issue, thought C Bolt had made the tackle and don't recall Gehrig getting off a handball. Thought the ball came loose as he hit the ground rather than Gherig getting off a handball, (If it was a handball then deliberate OOB ) but such is life.
Agree on some of the interpretations of HTB in the pack situations, if you go to ground trying to clear a ball from a pack and get tackled, or even other players falling over the top can't see how they are meant to clear it out of the pack.

Ahh my bad was thinking it went over the boundary line adjacent to the behind post.

And the only thing worse than the camerawork (is the director some sort of post modernist out of focus partly in frame auteur ??) was Jason Dumbstall's so called commentary. He has to be the most biased anti Blood in the media and thats saying something. His fumbling interview regarding the Field of Women included this brilliant insight.

Disagree -mostly shoulder like Leo's hit on Ling a few weeks back. Mind you, the presumption of innocence usually flies out the window when Big B's involved.

Free to NOG for a high tackle. One ump was in the right position. TV camera clearly picked it up, correct call.
