Matthew James umpired here at Ulverstone a couple of weeks ago. He was the reserve umpire for the Hawthorn game at York Park and needed a game to keep his hand in. The rucks had trouble adjusting to how high he could bounce the ball. Best I have ever seen.

My ex was an umpie and he had trouble getting it passed shoulder height.( I exaggerate a bit out of spite)

So your name used to be Satchmopugdog Humphrey-Smith.

Not sure whether it was just umpire James but some of the centre bounces yesterday were the highest I've ever seen.

The commentators mentioned at the start of the game how hard the centre square was and that Roos was really concerned about it. Suspect that had something to do with it too.
