Sydney and Hawthorn are the only teams currently inside the 8 who don't have a NAB rising star nomination.

Of the teams outside the 8 and still in the hunt Adelaide is the only other team without a nomination

Hopefully the Cheese can but an end to that

I could be wrong, but as impressive as Cheese was he is unlikely to be nominated based on just 1 performance.

As I said elsewhere, I wouldn't be surprised if Matthew Leuenberger won the nomination this week. He carried their ruck on his own when Charman went down and was very good, as have his previous few games.

Yeah I agree can't see it this week the only guy I can recall getting nominated first game was Polo for Richmond last year after getting 30 odd touches and 3 goals from memory

Brisbane also had Wood nominated earlier in the Year so as usuall there ruck stocks look very healthy

Leuenberger will get this round's nomination, hopefully Cheese performs well against the Pies to get a nomination for Round 21. It doesn't really mean much since he's not going to win it this year.

He could get nominated twice, once this year and once next year. This is possible if he is still eligible next year (below a certain age, below a certain number of games at the start of the year).

We're overdue for a rising star nomination.

He'll be eligible, he'll be 21 by the time the 2008 AFL season begins but he'll still be 20 on January 1st 2008 (candidates must be under 21 by that date and have only played 10 games or less before the new season).
