I'll change my attitude on the day that they rename Davo "Magic".
I think you'll find their season stats are almost identical.

    I agree with NMWBloods' comment.

Play the ball not the man guys!

I note no one has come forward and defended Micky's stats.

His year has not been great.

Which up and coming rookie is being prevented from having a kick? (because of O'Loughlin not giving it away)

Swans need to look for younger new "blood".

The team still has some blokes i would pick any day...... Ryan O'Keefe is an unfashionable champion - just never gets the press that Hally, Kennelly (the Irish wonder boy) and Goodes get, but always makes the most of his opportunities.....

Once again i reiterate "You are useless O'Loughlin"

              cheers

so when is being named all-Australian and best player of Australia's last tour of Ireland unfashionable? What really gives you away is your cynism toward Tadgh. Not even our own most vocal cynics (NMW, you know we love you) would use sarcasm about arguably our most valuable player. See ya Skip.

                  Ryan OK

You make some great points, but when did you last see an article about the Swans that talked up O'K?

                  Anyway back to O'Loughlin.......

Watching Micky this year gives me a sense of regret...regret that he has not been able to spend more time in the mid-field in his career.

There are times when he gets the ball deep in defence or on the wing through our game plan and I watch with awe as he does something that creates a bit of space that no-one else has been able to do,or fire of a pass that no-one else has been able to see.

The statistics quoted earlier don't reflect this as they don't say things like "created the space for a chain of passes that resulted in a goal" or "got us out of a sticky situation."

                    I have never liked numbers

Micky has done plenty more this year then Davo has. Maybe if we actually kicked to him more often especially earlier in the year he might of kicked more goals then he has now. His stats read ok, not brilliant but he isnt the only one. The thought of dropping him makes me shiver- he is a club legend and whether he is holding up a youngster or not I dont think matters as he is our best option for his position. And he is kicking dead straight this year- the yips seem to be gone and he will step it up a notch should we make it into September. To blame him and drop him youd also have to drop about 10 other players in the 1st team who have been much worse then Micky O this year!

                        They're similar types.

I think MOL has been more effective and better over his career, but the benefit we get from each over the past few seasons is not too dissimilar.

Interesting, as these are the sorts of things Davis is also capable of doing.
