    Next Week ...

    Who will come in??

Buchanan is out, Brennan is probably gone, Possibly O'Loughlin too and Crouch (groin) and Everitt (Back) were on the bench at the end of the game ... that's a lot of new players necessary ...

schmidt must be back, maybe dempster and hopefully leo but who else??

I hope Leo is right. Add Dempster or LRT and Schmidt or Moore. If Leo is not right they might need to bring in Vogels or Grundy. They have to add more height to the backline.

The first three will definitely be out - since they were talking about Brennan's injury being at least a 3-4 week injury and Magic's back.

I think they'll play Spider purely because of the Hawks factor even if he's 70% fit.

Leo, LRT, Schmidt and Dempster to come in.

MOL was spitting up blood when he came to the I/c after his mark. Not sure if it was from a mouth injury, or from internally, was certainly struggling, when on the bench.

Brennan could barely walk when taken off, so I'd assume he is gone for what is left of the season.

And Buchanan, is most probably gone for a week or two.

        Leo, LRT, Schmidt, Moore.

According to Doc Larkin, MOL bruised his lung and burst some blood vessels also in the lung, hence the spitting up blood.

So why did they let him play on?? It looked nasty from the start, I thought a quick trip to the hospital for precautionary reasons would've been the best move.

As for ins: Dempster, Schmidt and LRT/Grundy

So long as West Coast beat Essendon by the time we play it won't matter other than determining who we will play first week of the finals so maybe resting Everitt is an option. Could be Syd V Colllingwood again first week of finals and I reckon with a better back line we can beat them. We played terrible last night, had a weak back line, dodgy umpiring and still only lost by 25.

He didn't play on, he spent the rest of the game on the bench then went to hospital.

Bring in Jesse White. A round 22 debut, the stuff of legends. C'arn Roosy!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I remember Collingwood picking Rene Kink for his first game in a finals series. maybe it is time for something out of left field.

Home game so the ground won't be too strange for him. Big strong kid, probably can't run out a whole match but it wouldn't be the first time we had a youngster getting 60 minutes. I think it'd be an exciting debut.

Before the romantics get carried away, I watched the ressies a few weeks ago (and yes it was just one game so not a true indication of where he's at) and poor Jessie couldn't take a mark - contested or uncontested - to save himself. The way poor Ed Barlow has been eaten eaten up by the RWO perfectionists, I would discourage anyone new coming in at this stage.

Oh, I thought I saw him come back on for a brief stint.

I've seen him dominate and look pretty ordinary out there, but I don't care. It'd be exciting.

The Doc said today that there are 7 injured players. One that surprised me was Schneider who has an ankle problem. He thought the only definate starter for next week is Leo and Buchanan is sure to miss also.Sad to see Crouch reduced to the condition he played under last night.
We have had such a good run...we now know what other teams ie St Kilda have been through.
