    Should we tank for 2011-12?

While this post is not to be taken all that seriously, there are some issues that it brings to light.
With the team of 2007 reminding me of that of 97 in its lack of motivation to succeed, should we bite the bullet now and off-load our fading lights, and perhaps one or two of our better players for some early quality draft picks over the next few years? We could try to beat our 20-odd game losing streak and really tank it for say three years, perhaps even sack Roosie as other coaches now kmow our game plan inside out, and replace him with Gary Buckenarra or Col Kinnear.
Basically it would mean rebuilding from the ground up, as adding just one or two has-beens or never-wases at the end of each season, isnt going to achieve much sand will see us ungraciiously slide down the ladder a few places each season until we're at the bottom again anyway, and thus even lengthen the time it will take to find Bloods2. This philosophy has drawbacks: attendances will fall, but at least the diehard supporters will be able to get a seat for the next few years without being surrounded by johnny-come-lateleys who still call umpires referees. Maybe sponsorship dollars will fall, but we won't need to pay the players so much for so little reward.
For the dinki-di Swannie supporter the benefit would be enormous: instead of expecting them to win and beeing disappointed when they put in an effort like that against the pies (twice), we will be expecting them to lose and so will all be elated when they pull off a fluke win.

PS: Thank goodness the EPL has started....go Gunners!

I really think your probably talking bollox but I guess there is some merit in what you say. Rather then doing that I think we need to cut some of the deadwood by trading seriously and then trying to build a mid table team for the short term (Next couple of years) where some younger blokes can come in and get some experience and look to push hard come 2010-11-12.

As for the EPL- Im not sure whether you watched the City- Gunners last night but it was an excellent game. im a city fan and we were a bit unlucky, but the Gunners were the better team but I liked the way the game was played- no harsh tackling or crap very open and good footy to watch from both sides.
