    Umpires!!

I thought these guys deserve a special mention this week not just for making me lose my voice, quite possibly the pies BOG. While I'll happily admit the pies were the better team last night, but jesus christ what happened in terms of one sided nature of frees 28-11 i think was disgraceful

What abut Kirk getting pinged for holding the ball in the 1st quarter when he didn't have it? That was a diabolical decision.

The same thing happens to them a few minutes later...."I'll have it" says the umpire.

The double standards went on all night, 80% of them went against us.

At least they gave us some entries into the fwd 50 in the first quarter!
And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .

Pies were the better team last night, but I thought the umpiring had a big influence last night. It allowed them so many forward entries that our under-sized defense just could not hold out.

I still can't believe some of those HTB decisions. We were absolutely murdered. Was it Kirk that got pinged when he clearly had his hands out in front of him but had 2 players sitting on him? I almost smashed my brand new 42" plasma after that decision!

the other call I couldnt believe was the HTB I think in the 3rd term cant remember who against where the Collingwood player had about 15 seconds to get rid of it and 2 seconds later the Swans player gets it and gets pinged instantaneously! They were shocking last night. Other 2 calls were the 2 throws they called- both from umpires about 50 metres away from the play and both incorrect as well. Very bad display from the yellow maggots only matched in its crapness by our performance.

what about the appalling deliberately out of bounds deision against McVeigh in the first quarter!!? (which I think ultiametely resulted in a goal for Collingwood) . He was trying to kick it with the outside of his foot to go along the wing foe God sake.

An yes the Kirk decision. A minute or so earlier Wakelin had done the same thing - he was in a sitting position with but trapping the ball with his feet - he was deliberately holding the ball with his feet so as to prevent Swans players from clearing it - decision: Ball-up. Yet minutes later Kirk gets pinged for a similar thing except Kirk had no control of the ball!

Even Tim Lane whilst crapping on about Buckley thought that was a little inconsistent.

Yeh, and we capitalised on them too!!

The umpiring was staggering, Many HTB, when there was no prior opportunity.
Very inconsistent rulings, all night, both ways.

And the mark they paid Didak (?) when it bounced off Goodes?! WTF was that all about! I try to avoid bagging umps where possible, because they do a bloody tough job, but seriously! I cannot think of another profession where people get paid $100k to stuff up as much as they did last night!

The umpiring was absolutely abysmal, however it had no bearing on the result.

It had some bearing, it ruined some of the momentum we may have had at stages in the game. The Schneider running too far call is one of them.

We were comprehensively beaten in all aspects of the game - we had no right to be close, even considering the umpiring.

I actually agree. I felt it effected the game quite a bit.
