    Bucky and his penance....

    Why no thread on this?

Anyways, clearly he'll be facing up. But what's the likely outcome?

Judging by Ben Johnson's 6 weeks, I seriously doubt we'll be seeing him again this year.

    4 weeks for mine.

He's gone for rough conduct(and there are grounds for getting this changed given rough conduct has generally been reserved for contact off the football).
He'll go intentional, high impact, high contact = Level 5 = 550 points.

I'm not sure of his record but assuming he's had 5 years of no serious charges he'll get the 25%+25% That gets him down to 309 points and 3 games.

.......... Just checked the points are the same for charging so that won't help him, the only chance to get this reduced is to get it graded has medium impact instead of high (given the Irishman was pretty dazed it's hard to see that happening) or reckless instead of intentional. Either of those two will see 2 games.

      My guess is 3 weeks.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

He wasn't deliberately charging the head. The photo of ROK pushing Clark into the collision might assist the defence to downgrade to reckless.
2 weeks with one off for early plea.

If it is 309 points it'll be interesting to see if the Swans have a crack at contesting the grade. If unsuccessful it'll go to 412 points and 4 games.

                Today's terror.......

Makes it look a lot more like he was legitametley in the contest and that the contact was unavoidable and not caused solely by his own stupidity...

No argument that he was legitimately in the contest but the contact was of his chosing, it was avoidable. It was front on. He could've easily gone in with an intent to smother but chose to attack the body, was very late and well off the ground. He did keep the arm in though. It's a border line reckless/intentional but having clearly jumped into Clarke it's difficult to argue his intent was not a high hit.

Taking the Red and white glasses off it was pretty filthy. 3-4 weeks. Imagine if some collingwood scumbag had done it to one of our players.

I haven't seen the incident. Or at least, I saw a collision while at the ground but didn't see what actually happened or even the players involved. And I haven't watched any replays of the incident.

But last week, Luke Power jumped into Craig Bolton with both feet off the ground, made some contact to Boltons head judging by Bolton's physical reaction, and it was at a time when Bolton was in the process of completing a mark so his body was very open. Lions supporters were claiming it to be the worst report of all time and the MRP deemed it not worthy of any charge.

Reading what others are saying here suggests that maybe Monty's was more forceable but enough to cause a 4 week differential between Power and Buchanan?

anything more than one week = season I'd say

My initial reaction was 3 - 4 weeks. It was well after the pie bloke kicked the ball. The ROK defense might get it downgraded to 2 weeks, but that would be optomistic.

Buchanan will be back for the grand final, fully fit!

It is a lot better to watch the game without any niggling injuries.
