    after fridays result(spoilers)

with Adelaide winning it is simple If we beat hawks we play Collingwood in week 1 if we loose we play the kangas. I did the ladder predictor and they are the only 2 results. P.S. if it is a draw we play collingwood.

Potential Finals opponent (includes spoilers of Pies-Crows)

With Collingwood losing tonight, our potential finals opponents become a little clearer

    - Beat Hawthorn and we're pretty much guaranteed to play Collingwood in Melbourne. (unless Kangaroos get beaten by about 100 points then we would play them instead.)
    - Lose to Hawthorn and play the Kangaroos in Melbourne.

Ah, a draw is as good as a win as our % is much larger than Adelaide's.

There's also the (unlikely) possibility that the team will play golf.

Personally I'd far prefer to play the Roos. They aren't anything flash at the moment.

The crowd would be as close as you'll get to 50-50 in the stands as well. Hopefully lots come down from Sydney. As there will hopefully be 15000+ locals here to watch us at the G or Dome.

As I said in the other thread, happy to take on Collingwood who are an ordinary team having won 2 in the past 5 weeks. If we can't beat them then it proves we are a very ordinary team.

I'm now hoping we lose to Hawthorn on Sunday so that we play North at the MCG next Sunday. Finally, a chance to get some revenge for '96. We wouldnt have to play bogey teams Collingwood or Adelaide unless we both made the GF.

Or it says we've been a great side coming to the end of our run.

Collingwood aren't a great side, but they match up well on us, so I'd prefer to play North.

By that post, I think you just about want us to get beaten by them so you can prove a point.

The problem with winning and finishing 7th is the potential semi-final against West Coast @ Subi or Port @ AAMI.

A loss on sunday would mean an elimination final against North, and then a semi against Geelong or Hawks @ MCG. I'd much rather us take this route, hopefully making the prelim with our tails up against Port or West Coast, both teams which we have beaten on their home ground in finals as rank underdogs.

damn I wish I could change my tip to Hawthorn!

Or we could get throttled this Sunday, then get bent over and assraped by Pies or Kangas in 2 weeks and I've just wasted a good 5 minutes writing this crap.

No not at all. I hope we win the comp.

In 2005 we were a great side, in 2007 we have been ordinary. Who knows that might change in the finals but its unlikely.

North are a very good team from the matches I've watched so those who are hoping to play them in the finals are misguided in my opinion.

Didn't we prove that last week then?

An interesting thing comparing us to other sides, such as tonight's game - we're very static. We virtually never play on from a mark or free kick. Without our run from the backline we do look very ordinary then.

Firstly there's not that much difference between '05 and 07 teams...It's more that all the other teams know our game better, and know how to counter it better....ie super flood and win half the contested footy.

We can certainly beat either wobbles or kangas if we turn up and play for 4 quarters. Hopefully Leaper and Irish will be back and BBBH will be rested. And hopefully a day game at the G.
