Just pulled the win/loss on day/night games stats out on another board to argue the point with some Collingwood fans.

Didn't realise they were that bad.

3-1-8 in night games (no wins against top 8 sides)
9-1 in day games.

Now, I still believe we can win, night game notwithstanding, but if they appoint McLaren to this game, the odds may be just too big to overcome.

If McLaren does get appointed, Roos should get on the front foot with a pre-emptive attack on McLaren and cop the 20K fine. It worked well for James Hird and Essendon, they never lost a free kick count again after Hird said he was a cheat (or similar).

Agree BBB. I'm sure the Swans have stats on McLaren's FF/FA count for our matches so they should ensure it's leaked to the Herald Sun during the week and backed up by some strong comments from Roos or Ireland.

I'm very worried about the night game. Our good record at the G is also countered by the fact Collingwood play much better there also.

Our record at the MCG is nothing spectacular - we normally beat weak to average teams there.

However, finals are something different in the past few years. All of our finals in the past two years (except for the GFs) have been at night and we have a 4-1 record (1-1 Subi, 1-0 SCG, 1-0 TS, 1-0 MCG).

Ive watched with keen interest the day/night split. Not sure its too relevant but it is fairly damning. If we make it to the big one though I know Ill be putting a lot on us, as in the day we look a different team to at night. Im not sure we can get that far but we can dream at least for another 5 days!

I was thinking tonight, if we win, we will play Friday night the following week, considering the loser of the Roos/Cats match will need 6 days off, therefore they would get the Saturday night match against the Hawks/Crows winner.
