I don't think my Sanjeev equivalent would be too happy about me going to the Alex for similar reasons to Sanjeev's.

The F&L did get a good crowd for the '05 PF, the numbers swelled when the Association Football crowd came in after their game and added their support to the Swans.

We don't really like it but there aren't many options that suit all 3 of us, it is equally inconvenient for all of us to get to. We are open to other (reasonable) suggestions.

Wardy rang them up yesterday to ask if they were showing the game and the chap said "yes but most of the fans go to the ground to watch it", she pointed out that it was in Melbourne.
    Bring it on!

I was told there was a pub in Newtown that also shows the game?

Anyone have any idea which pub that might be? I dont want to get stuck at a pub that defines having a crappy tv in a corner playing the swans while nrl bogans run the show.

From what everyone else is saying, it seems that all the swans are up the other end.... I'm in N31.... what the hell's going on?!!
I'd better not be with all those feral Pies supporters!

yeah know what you mean - that is why I rang the F & L they should have it on the big screen (like the 05 prelim final) even though the Irish bloke who answered the phone said that "most people go across to the game" and thats when I told him that it was actually being played in Melbourne. So we will probably get there early, have dinner and a few beverages, in a prime position and have a good yell!!! the only other place with a really big screen would be Star City (maybe).
The Aussie rules club normally showed it in the function room upstairs - I still think that its closed for reno's though.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

the Alex reminded me too much of the pubs that get hosed out everynight? But everyone is different in what they do and dont like.

Meh. Couch, lounge, whatever. What it ISN'T is a Sofa.

Now excuse me while I get out my new Aluminum Cell to call a friend to make sure they Xerox a Kleenex. And to take a Polaroid while they do it. Anyway I'll be routing for the Swans this weekend.

I have been going to the Windsor Castle in Paddo of late.

Probably not as AFL focused as the Alex, but more convenient location, and nicer pub.

Does get very busy on saturday nights though so if you want a chair (and dont have your own exclusive VIP wing) get there early.

Perhaps it is for you and Sanjeev but it isn't really convenient for any of our group, so perhaps it could be an alternative to the F&L.
