    Should we go after Sheedy?

As a coach Sheedy stacks up extremely well against any other coach in the competition. Four premierships in 27 years! What's more, a couple of weeks ago Patrick Smith claimed "No coach has performed better than Sheedy this year". Smith can be a bit of a nuff nuff but it's food for thought.

If there was an out-of-contract player that compared as well with his peers, AFL clubs would be all over him like seagulls on a chip. Which brings me to the point:

Any club that prides itself on thinking outside the square (ie Swans) should be smart enough to go after the services of Sheedy without first assuming that they would have to sack anyone to make it happen. Get Sheedy!

I think Sheedy should take a year off, then go over and do at Richmond what Barassi did for Sydney.

Over the last couple of years as a consequence of being at or so close to the bottom of the ladder, the tiggers have picked up some nifty little kids. Let Sheeds develop them.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

      AS head of football, maybe.

As coach, only if Roos is out of contract and not wanting to go on.

Head of football would be worth consideration although I think Roos already has designs on that job in a couple of years.

He'd definitely be an excellent figurehead for the club though.

I'm out of the loop apparently.

Sheedy is expected to decide within a fortnight whether to take up Fremantle's offer as a manager-style coach to help mentor former assistant Mark Harvey.

Plus we already have Andrew Ireland in that role. And he's probably as responsible for the recent success of the club as Roos. Certainly Colless has always spoken about them as a pairing and looked to extend their contracts in parallel.

Not saying that no role could be found for Sheedy but don't think that director of football operations is an area where the club is currently wanting.

I love the SheedMeister. What a character but I wouldn't want him at the club. I would really like him to get into this development role the AFL have appointed him to and show his head in NSW as much as possible as he is such an icon and could really help the code here agst other codes.

On what basis? Name a single good reason to not be after him.
