On the Blight Principle (other things being equal,it's the bottom six that win premierships)I'm going for one of our less well performed players - McVeigh. I'd like to see him play to his potential in the midfield and go forward for a couple of goals - that with the other 21 will see us run out winners.
The player that needs to lift agst the Pies

If Hall kicks five we win?
he kicked 4.1 last time and we didnt get close.
the onus is on the midfield.
please please please dont let Goodsey carry the WHOLE MIDFIELD
melcho has been poor last two matches against pies!
fire up my man MALCHO!
also schnieds can bring back his 3 goal last quarter effor against the saints and it would be game over.
o'keefe should kill them as well...give him the responsibility to kick goals and not be a link man up the ground.
also, why do we never use Davis as he was used in the 06 GF. he is a strong mark, great kick and lives for finals football!
give him some room and he will not let you downComment

Barreth Hall.
There's a little paragraph on the back page of the Herald today about him reuniting with his long-term partner, so he might be in the mood to kick a bagful tomorrow.Comment

Robbo ... mate ... it's finals. They ALL need to lift.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

It would be really nice to see J Bolton play a decent game against a team in the 8 and put in for a change in a final.Comment

The keys to a Sydney win, more-or-less in order:
1. BBBH, which is more or less self-explanatory. (Personally I'd like to see him just spend half of the first couple of quarters on the ground, to see if our other forwards can keep the no-Hall magic going.)
2. Malceski. Has been comparatively hesitant and error-prone since he's had to bear the weight of our defence (along with CBolt) with no Kennelly, no Barry and no LRT. I'd love to see LRT and Barry hold the tough part of the defence together allowing Malceski (and to a lesser extent Dempster) to run, run, run off half-back.
3. LRT. For the reason above. Has a huge job.
4. Goodes. Not that he needs to lift, because he has been unbelievable (at times, almost super-human) over the last 2 weeks. But we need him to keep it going; when Goodes is firing, all talk of 'Sydney's midfield is too defensive' becomes irrelevant.
5. Davis and Schneider. With the likes of Dale Thomas running around for the enemy, our small forwards need to kick at least as many as their small forwards.Comment
