the things that killed us were ruckmen not spoiling in the goalsq and defenders who should learn that when in doubt they kick to the wing. game was lost because of our stupidity not their skills nor the umpires who performed appallingly.

The defence Davis gets in here is beyond belief. He is beyond @@@@. Has no desire to get the ball, and has no desire to chase his man. Get rid of him because he is a liability. Stop living in the past and move on to someone else who can actually offer us some value up forward. Hall can get lost as well.

It comes down to the midfield, though, really. When the Collingwood backs had the ball they could look up and see several players metres in the clear, our midfielders like to jog near their opponent even when WE have the ball (except Goodes). Schmidt, Buchanan, Moore...these are the types to play the NEW modern game. The inventors of the MEDIUMLY OLD modern game (Adelaide and Sydney) were thrown out today. NO COINCIDENCE.

Why can't they ALL be like Goodsey (who probably had a few clangers himself, but they were redeemed).
In case you haven't picked it up yet, Annie doesn't like Nick Davis, but can see this happening.

I'm not a Davis lover or hater. He does what I expect from a 3rd forward, kicks about 2 goals a game. I think your comments are not correct if you look at the facts.

Davis kicked 2 goals from limited opportunities. That's a good performance. How many players kick more than 2 goals per game?

2 goals from 3 kicks. We need more out of a forward with his "talent". You can't look at that performance and accept it....surely.

No I don't think he played well, but he kicked 2 goals, which is a forward's role and we have bigger problems than that. He was put in the goal square for most of the night.

I totally agree. Nick Davis has more skill than you can poke a stick out..... however he also has possibly the WORST attitude ever. Nick Davis plays for Nick Davis.

Last night I stopped counting the number of times I saw him standing still while James Clement ran off him. He is a lazy, one dimensional player at the moment, who thinks one good performance in ten will do. Someone really needs to give him a rocket.

He could be a superstar and yet he is not. Sure they could have tried him in the midfield but when he looks like he would rather be somewhere else than the middle of an AFL final, why would you?

I am praying that something changes over the preseason & he becomes the player he could be.

Disturbing article in the Sunday HS. Roos vows a Swans Revival.

" I still think the majority of our older guys are 30, so you are probably hopeful that that group have another year, two years to go".

Mentioned Hall, Crouch, Mathews, Barry and Kirk.

Sounds like a couple of the over the hill mob in Mathews and Crouch will go on for umpteen years yet. Get ready for much of the same for 2 years that coincidently coincides with the end of our coach's tenure.

What happened to his core promise when he was appointed of being a player developer. " I am going to show these players how to play footy" Well he did and we won a flag but being a player developer doesn't stop there. Will our messiah be seen in the next 2 years as someone who has it all and develop a new core squad to glory or will he bow out in the gloring of winning us a flag.

Not just possies.... He ran off and provided an option....while Nick stood flat footed.

and by the way I have eight fingers mate.....

Well, IMO, someone like Nick Davis should be kicking 2 goals, giving away another two, and presenting opportunities to other forwards by locking the ball in the F50. He did one of the 3 things that he should be doing weekly.

He did get one scoring assist.

None of our forwards lock the ball inside the F50. I think we are one of the worst in the comp at doing that regularly.
