There's no denying he's been @@@@ for the last 12mths. Started on GF day 2006 and he hasn't been able to turn it around.

Injuries aside, me thinks that most of his problems are mental after that shocker he had that cost us the GF. (I seriously doubt that any one would argue that had he kicked goals in the GF, we would of won) To be responsible for such a loss is a huge burden for a player to carry.

I don't think it's trade time yet, but he needs to get over what ever it is that's screwing with his head (and body) and move forward. Until he does, he's a liability.

Interestingly, Roos just said on Triple M that no-one from the swans list would be right to retire. He feels that Hall will be a significantly better player next year (as would Kennelly) and that the playing group as it is now would still be a chance for great success (injuries permitting).

In either case Roos believes that the current playing group, out of respect, should be given another chance at it next year. However, he did say that if it started to go pear-shaped earlier in the season he would begin to give more of the younger players a chance.

He also said that given the choice of a gun forward, midfielder or defender, he would go with a quality midfielder if the Swans could get them.

On the whole, I am happy enough with that. As crap as Hall has been, he certainly has not been helped with the quality of ball being delivered into the forward line. Recruiting a young midfielder (particularly with pace) would be preferable to trading Hall, but other than through the draft we don't have much chance of that.

so another season of mediocrity will await in 08. The current playing group just cant do it like they could in 05 and 06 and another year wont fix it Im afraid. All he is doing is prolonging our spell at the bottom instead of trying to being a process next year which would see more younger players into the squad and building for the future. He is only looking to the end of his contract I feel and is not worried about what happens after that.
