RSS: Swans' glorious era is not over: Barry

Swans co-captain Leo Barry is adamant Sydney's glorious era isn't over, but said the club needed their younger players to step up next year.

Maybe he should have a look at RWO...

      They're all in denial.

Younger AND older!! Perhaps 'step up' should mean try a few more in the seniors at the expense of slow, unskilled pensioners in the side!

"This year we've been exposed with a few injuries to some of our key players, which in the past we haven't really had to worry about.

"For us older guys, we still feel we've got a good enough list.
ie: We played crap but want to keep our jobs and because we run the team and Roos is our mate, we will and we can blame the young guys.

"You are not going to get better games out of Hally or Kirky or the older guys, we need to continually improve our younger guys."
If some of the older guys can't play better than they have this season then they'd better quit!

hoped Sydney could recapture some of the hunger he felt it had lost this year.
Didn't they say that after the 06 GF loss and after nearly every game this year?

Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Boring - Are we going to ge this from every aging player on the list?

Yes Leo, I am sure our younger players will really be able to step up when they are all stuck in the reserves because your best buddies are a protected species. It's a sure fire way to develop the young-uns - Have a rotation system where they get 2 games of AFL football, then get sent back to Canberra. Hoorah!

Perhaps Leo can look himself in the mirror and say how can I improve. His stupidity as an ageing footballer of trying to run and dodge etc to maintain his persona is one area where he can improve. He had plenty of first options last night but ignored them and tried to run pack. As I have said before, I reckon he has poor eyesight because he doesn't seem to see the quick forward entry and doesn't appear to see anyone more than 20 metres away.

Surely there must be a valid reason for his continued way of playing as an individual and not a team man.
