All Australian to All but Retired

If was in charge of the AFL and I wanted to change who was going to win what would I do?

I know, I could change the rules enough so we get a different result!

Let me think for a while........

Maybe I could introduce a rule that you can't push, hold when going for a Mark. (wonder who that would affect?) I may eliminate contest, heck that doesn't matter I want to change the result!

Maybe I could try to eliminate the stoppages in a game by changing the way umpires enforce the holding of the ball rule.

Well, whilst I am changing the rules for a different result I could think who has a short backline and introduce a chopping the arm rule to ensure that more frees are given away in their backline. (More frees to the opposition forwards = More goals therefore more losses to the team I want to affect)

OK if I was in charge I would do that! That would change things!

And if that didn't work I would change more rules till I got what I wanted. I could even introduce a rule the next year that if they kicked backwards I would make them play on......

That's what I could do if I wanted to change the results. (Especially if I lived in Melbourne and all and wanted a Vic team to win and have more "pies", sold at the MCG in September, or had a pet "cat" or something like that)

Maybe there have been too many games away from the MCG in previous years because of the way some teams play? You never know, I may have a contract with the MCG and need to XX games a year or pay compensation.....

Well that is what I would do to get a different result. (And we do need to have different All Australian players from time to time.)

What would I think, Hell that doesn't matter because I make the rules!

Please I don't make the rule, because some people might think I was cheating!

Sorry BBBH seems you have been ruled out of All Australian to All but Retired. Because someone changed the rules.

Bring Back the Contest! (to take a line from Bring Back the Biff)

I think Sydney people voted on Saturday what they think of AFL in comparison to NRL. Apparently only handful of viewers watched the Swans final on Saturday night, which speaks volumes about the popularity of AFL in Sydney. If AFL keeps doing changes in favour of Vic teams they'll loose more grounds to rugby whether they like it or not. Somebody needs to get rid of the fat controller ASAP.
