You could be right if could snare Judd,i like Monty he's a little soft at times but he does break the lines.

I can't see them giving up Jolly as trade bait unless he REALLY wants to go, as they have tried hard over the last few years to build up our big man stocks.

Crouch seems to be getting a hard time here. He had a bad 2007 through injury/recovery but I reckon just needs some seniors games under his belt.

I agree with that list but Doyle....

Sure he has no trade value, but surely you would put him in the group of "don't care if we keep or not".

As for Schneider and Fosdike and who you left out they would have "some" trade value and should be included in the list of players to be shopped around. Though I think we pretty much would only move Jolly "IF" he doesn't agree to a new contract.

I think we will pretty much sit tight with the list we have, dislist the likes of Vogels and Doyle and then move O'Loughlin and Barry onto the veteran list outside the senior list of 38 (they are currently on the veteran list inside the senior list of 38). That would open up 4 spots on the senior list leaving room for at least 3 draft picks and 1 rookie elvation in Barlow (Jack can stay on the Rookie List for another year, I wouldn't bother with Brennan). If we want to go with more draft picks (which would be the way to go, rather than trade for players) then we could see the likes of Brabazon, Phillips, and Simpkin in the firing line for delisting and maybe Crouch and Mathews for retirement (as if that would happen with what has come out of the SCG media centre in the last few days)

At least our hacks if they are removed from the senior starting 22 become depth players and allow the likes of Laidlaw, Schmidt, Moore, White, Grundy, Currie, Faulks, Thornton, Daniel O'Keefe and the players we pick up in this years draft (such as Craig Bird and maybe Darcy Daniher for starters without using our First Round Pick) to come though. That not only brings though talent but adds much needed depth and hopefully the building blocks for our next Premiership charge from 2009 onwards.

We are some good starting pieces in senior players (Goodes, Malceski, O'Keefe, Hall, Craig Bolton, LRT, Kennelly, and Davis) and young talent that just needs a chance at senior football. Hopefully Roos does the right thing and starts to give them a go, because he of all people should know, that was the begining of the end for Eade in Sydney and if he isn't careful the same could happen to him.

I reckon there is less room in the same 22 for both Mcveigh and Fosdike.

Nah, there's plenty of room in the Reserves 22.

I'm still hopeful that he can string together a half season or so (at the end of next year would be ideal) and fearful that he will go somewhere else and dominate if he's let go. Traditionally we've let injury prone players go and they haven't burned us in their new club (from Jason Mooney to Ryan Fitzgerald) so the coaches must see some massive upside to him?!

I nearly commented on this after the post you refer to - I can't recall who said it either!
But I disagree. Buchanan has the capacity to be a very good in-and-under ballwinner, and I'd like to see him spending most of his time in the boiler room. Schneider has shown he can be a high-impact small swinger (to coin a phrase): either crumbing goals up front or shutting down a lively small forward down back. My problem with him is that he strikes me as undisciplined, and the coaches should be able to fix that.

Bolton J, seems to be held in high regard by many victorians so may attract a decent price
