How much can the best players command per season?

In my next life, I wanna come back as a much heralded, superstar gun midfielder who starts playing in the seniors from year one (say 17), and plays for the next 19 years (uninjured). Of course, I'd be on a million dollar contract in year one, and it would raise $500K per year for the next 19.

Yeah, from what I know alot of the young guys share, but they're all in nice parts of the Eastern Suburbs and rent is not cheap, even if your are sharing.

I dont think $44,000 a year is alot of money when you have to live out of home, and have expenses like car payments/insurance, rent, bills, living expenses, etc. Especially in Sydney. I make more than that and I still struggle to put savings away for the future. I don't think it should matter what age you are.

It doesn't matter where you live $44,000.00 is a @@@@ load of money for a 17 year old to be earning. In fact it is so tough for them to make ends meet that after meeting their living expenses most of them can go out and buy new cars. Normally then the clubs make sure they get good financial advice so that they can invest whatever thay have left (realising that even the best players will only be at the top for a few years compared to those of us with a normal career) so that they can be financially secure when they finish their career.
