If this so called blood brotherhood exists, how can the players be expected to make objective disspassionate decisions? Answer...They can't !
Passing most of the buck. @ that uninformed analysis

    Blood brotherhood? are you serious?
You can't discern between media aimed comments and common sense?

I agree. The players should be sat down and told that however they feel is irrelevant. No-one wants to hear their gripes and complaints. In effect they should have NO INPUT WHATSOEVER into the the organization they work for.

      That will work well.

And I note that if the players are in no position to comment on other players they play beside, then Ernie Koala will happily abide by the same rules and not be as obtrusive as the players and refrain from commenting on players and their abilities.
That will be left entirely up to, um, I assume you are implying that Paul Roos owns that role?

So you would put those players (excl. Kirk and Goodes) in front of C. Bolton?

You seriously reckon Roosey reads this?

Read, very slowly, the first line of Roos article..he refers to the Bloods brotherhood.
My point is, having such a tight knit group that we are constantly told they are, makes assessing eachother (given they all hold the same position ie player) objectively and disspassionately is not possible. And in the article Roos suggests, IMO, that plenty of weight is given to their view. ie. "If the leadership group say no, they would like exactly the same team next season, ( a crazy short sighted thought) I would have to weigh that up". That's too much weight!

Thats why they have a football department. With a director of footy, senior coach, assistant coaches, recruitment people etc etc, to rate the players, according to what they are after. Then recruit accordingly.

                        From: same article

Roos: "Our leadership group has been an invaluable part of the club in the past five years and, as every year, there will be a vote on our leadership group itself once we finalise the list."

So, once the current leadership group helps decide who should be on the entire list next year, the whole team takes a vote on who should be in the leadership group for 2008?

Sounds to me like this is the safety net to stop people simply voting for themselves or their mates (ie leadership group) as there is no guarantee they will be voted in again next year.

                        Kirk for sole Captain
                        Goodes for Vice Captain

Hall, Malceski, C.Bolton, Fosdike in leadership group.

I would have thought that Fossie was already in the leadership group. I'm surprised if he's not.

I didn't think that he was but I agree he is more than ready. He's always getting interviewed and ends up on the Swannies afl site. Tells it like it is too.
