O'Loughlin to help young Swans soar

    At last some sanity

Good to see Mickey is prepared to do what it appears Roos and the leadership group is not prepared to do, allow the youngsters to step up.

    This sounds good

"If that means I have to take a step back and someone else comes up and plays forward for a while, so be it," O'Loughlin said yesterday. "That's football, and I'm smart enough to know that as well, and you don't want to be one of those blokes that keeps on hanging around.
But is followed up with this

"Going on the last four years, the thing I'm most proud of is playing with the injuries, but also being able to play at a reasonable level. We'll know - Leo [Barry], 'Kirky' [Brett Kirk], 'Baz' [Barry Hall] ? we'll know when it's time to get out of there.
I would have thought that winning the flag would be the proudest moment.

Perhaps O'Loughlin can enter into a Jobshare arrangement with Grundy / Phillips LOL.

Perhaps he should just retire instead?

Done nothing this year..... (except for the last few games - when the mid-field remembered to kick to him & Nick Davis as Barry Hall was busy eating Roos' snakes in the coaches box).

Kicking over 40 goals in a season is not "doing nothing"

I also don't agree that he has done nothing this year. He kicked 4 goals in our losing final and yes 40 goals for the year. And he's broke the all-time games record for the club.

You either wanted a bite from people with that comment or you really hate arguably our best club man there has been.

at least he leads up the ground and goes looking for the ball if he doesnt get it.... not like KFC boy. Id prefer to see Davis go well and truly before the great Micky O goes.

They'll put him in the leadership group and brain wash him back to the 'brotherhood code.'

I'm always thinking of X-Men: The last Stand with the word 'Brotherhood'

You've got to be joking! Micky's had the best season he's had for ages! If we had of had a couple more Micky and Goodsies out there on Saturday night there may still be some life in our season.

You're askin' for it today Kanga!!

On paper, he's "ready" for retirement ... someone should try and tell him that. Our "problem" is, at the moment, he's playing like a 25 year old.

I'd love to see Micky do at least two more seasons (judging by how he played this year, he does have it in him). He can get his 300th up.

He's always been willing to stand back and do his own thing if his mates can score.

You are right sane cow. Can't remember the last time he had a hard ball get.

Annie, sadly I don't have time today to come up with MOL's stats for this year..... As I have said previously this has not been a good year for him.....

enough from Kanga on this subject.

                            Good.
