Let's say, theoretically, Sydney has the number one pick in the draft. The top pick is a midfielder, and at number 3 is a strong kid suited for a KP role. Do we take the kid ranked number 1, or take the player who could fill a position we need filled?
Take the #1, or the best one for us?

Not all top picks end up being great players, theres a lot of very good players now that were high picks.IMO the draft is really a lottery, and just because you finish last and take the #1 draft pick doesn't mean you get the best player. Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

I will put that comment about Gibbs down to not being able to see Carlton play often in Perth, otherwise you know absolutely nothing about football.
Gibbs played almost every game in his first season, in a defence that routinely had the ball coming down far too easy and often. Gibbs in alot of cases got the oppositions most dangerous mid sized forward as well.
Through all that he managed to find the ball and looked assured in his decision making.
Based on this year, he will be a 250 game elite midfielder by the time he retires in 12+ years time.

For KPP most likely a Key Defender: Alex Rance/Tayte Pears/David Myers/Tom Collier. And we could possibly get Darcy Daniher to boost the defence or add more depth up forward. Could anyone else elaborate more on the above mentioned players?"In some ways we?re less predictable to ourselves and sometimes that can be detrimental because we don?t really know where we?re going" - P.RoosComment

Oops didn't read the opening post. We actually need both! But i'll go with midfielder, if we can win our fair share in the middle the defence should hold up well."In some ways we?re less predictable to ourselves and sometimes that can be detrimental because we don?t really know where we?re going" - P.RoosComment
