Henry "Because of my seniority, the fact that I was captain and my habit of screaming for the ball, they would sometimes give it to me even when I was not in the best position. So in that sense it was good for the team that I moved on."

    Sound familiar?

but perhaps just in that sense and not overall. up to hall and others to encourage the midfielders to use their best judgement.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

Unfortunately we operate on vastly different systems for bringing players to a club.

As an Arsenal supporter... firstly, the money from Henry wasn't used to re-stock on quality players. We bought one player, Eduardo, who isnt that great. A key difference between the henry situation and barry is this: arsenal has the best coach in world football at recruiting young talent that would otherwise go unnoticed. Sure, we played better without Hall, but where is the young talent coming through? In Canberra? Surely you jest. The problem with the Swans is the recruiting, and I think everyone is becoming more and more aware of that fact. Especially after last week.

Why do we need to have a swag of youngsters earmarked to step into the side? That's not quite the point. If you've got a big bald captain screaming at you for the ball, its not really going to help you settle into the side as a youngster.

If you release the pressure on different players, and they are not constantly looking at the same target then we play muc more efficiently as a team.

How many games was everyone tearing their hair out with the ball going to hall regardless of where he stood in the contest and how many opponents he had? Then if he didn't get it, he'd give his team mate a spray.
