Roughhead hasn't shown himself to be the real deal yet. And as dimelb said ...he can't kick straight.

Highly dubious rumour. Roughhead is still raw, very strong overhead, could be a real plugger type leading forward, only issue would be with Williams back next year and Tim Boyle and Buddy if that is one big forward too many. Still think highly unlikely but if so would be first round pick trade.

He proved that in his last few games. Couldn't kick the goals that were needed to win the games. Had to leave it up to Buddy. I think he had 3 shots in the final against Adelaide in the last qtr that missed.

Yep. I'm offering up as many as 6 dour midfield defenders plus all our draft picks for us to get Brown and Pettifer from the Tigers. Don't worry, I know what I'm doing.

              He'll fit in perfectly then!

He kicked 40 goals this year which is the same as O'Loughlin.

Good point hammo, with those extra 40 goals we would have won another 4/5 games IMHO.

Would he get 40 goals at the Swans? With our delivery? With the other forward targets?
                  Maybe not.

I think MOL will retire during next season. Roughead would make a perfect replacement. I'd give up our highest draft pic and a McVeigh like player or two for him.

I think that is a fair trade. Pick 11 + a fringe 22 player, not sure if that would be enough for the Hawks.

can we reinvent him as a CHB?

Fair call there cruiser IMO it would work out for both teams, but the rumour about Roughhead could be wrong it could be about Mark Williams.Would we give up the same for him?

Then again, by having him there to compare others to, they might all look like models!

He did line up on Hall during Hall's unstoppable phase at least once (possibly twice in the one season?) but I don't recall how he went. I would like to pick him up just as a potential key position/tall prospect then be happy to see where he works out best because we need replacements down back and upfront. We have a surplus of fringe midfielders, which realistically the Hawks probably do too, but if we could package our first round draft pick + a fringe midfielder I would do it- I 'd even throw in Grundy/Vogels (if they wanted). The draft is a bit of a lottery, albeit one you can make an educated selection in, and Roughead is still young and I think has proven in his couple of years that he can make it as an AFL footballer.
