The Draft and salary cap are a waste of time.

Nine all Australians in one team and the most lopsided Grand Final win ever... The efforts of the AFL to create an even competition have been shown up as a complete joke!

But Geelong played their real GF against Collingwood. Now if the Magpies add Fraser and Judd to that outfit, what will happen next season?
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Whilst I agree to an extent, I actually think it is the trading related to the draft that is the problem.

Father-Son picks need to go too if they are serious about an even competition.

Why just because the father was good player doesn't mean the son will be too.It is still a lottery system for the FS rule too.

If the AFL want to make the draft fair then IMO it has to be a lottery system that decides the draft picks.Bottom 8 teams go in to lottery for the top 8 picks, then the top 8 teams go in to lottery for the next 8 picks and so on.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

I totally agree. This would be the simplest, fairest way and would eliminate tanking.
