If we had've played more like Geelong, we might've had a better chance at the GF.

If we had a game plan even remotely close to Geelongs' we would have had a better year, but I still think we'd have been beaten by them in the GF. Until Roos, his assistants and the "leadership pick your mates group" realise that footy has moved on from what worked in 2005/06 we are not going to go any further north up the ladder. Attacking, free flowing, accountable footy works which is what Geelong have produced pretty much all year. Also the likes of Hall have to come to terms with the inconsistent hands in the back rule - because the AFL aren't going to change it any time soon, so Hall has to accept it, understand it and get on with it.

Indeed - the only players in stoppages would have been Swans players - the Geelong boys would have cleared the ball & scored another goal in the blink of an eye.

I partially agree and said all this before the Hawks game in Round 22. A loss to the Hawks may not have got us to the GF but it would have put us on the better side of the draw.

It was better to lose by a point than humiliated by 119 points. I agree that we did have the tougher side of the draw but in the end, it got us a higher draft pick and saved some of us money on further airfares and accommodation for no real gain. Collingwood did is a favour.
