Swans show interest in Brad Green

Geez we are active in trade (and good to see!!).

On the news, apparantly we have shown some interest in Brad Green. How about Jude Bolton or Buchanan to Melbourne for Green?

Adds pace to our midfield and another forward option.
    Swannies for life!

That deal would not get close to flying. You'd need to offer something very good to get Melbourne to come to the table IMO. He's amongst our top 5 best players at present.

I can't see Melbourne giving him up.

I can't see that happening, Melbourne would want good compensation for trading Green.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Hang on a moment, though. Green's a quality player but the likes of Bolton and Buchanan that we're talking about as potential swaps are hardly fringe players either. I would be amazed if the Swans' hierarchy didn't consider Bolton to be one of the core half dozen players at the club over the past few years. He is in the leadership group, after all.

And putting aside 2007, Monty's performances in the GF years would have him in the top 7 or 8 at least.

I don't particularly want Green. I certainly don't want to lose Monty. But the suggestion of straight swaps if the two clubs do want to deal isn't outrageous.

Bolton has the talent of a fringe player, though. If he wasn't best mates with everyone at the club he would of missed games this year.

A swap of J Bolton for Green would be sensational, and would probably work for both clubs.

I can't see any point in recruiting renounded soft footballers. Would you like me to say that twice?

Who is an outside midfielder who you think is not soft?

                          Agree 100%.

He took a sensational gutsy mark running back with the flight of the ball this year. If I hadn't seen it i wouldn't have believed it. I can only assume he didn't realise there were players in the vicinity.

Great left boot, but that's it.

Mind you, I'd entertain Bolton for Green, but Monty !!, not in my lifetime would I consider that.

He's an outside midfielder - who cares about softness - he's not there to dive into the bottom of packs. He's there to deliver the ball and he does that beautifully! More tackles per game than say Kennelly or Malceski!
