    Bold trades, bold delistings?

While we watch Roos' actions with great interest (and question his mental state) I can't help but wonder whether his bold moves during trade week will be backed up with similarly bold delistings.

If Roos is prepared to trade away two premiership players under 25 in Schneider and Dempster (if true), then surely he plans to delist some premiership players over 30.

If Roos is serious about a new playing style and injecting speed into the side, then he must have already made up his mind about players like Crouch and Mathews.

I can't see them being around next year.

I think you are confusing what will happen with what you want to happen
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

      It's a fair call.....

If you're prpeared to get rid of two "potential and still developing" premiership players.... Then surely you should be able to delist a couple of "old and raipdly fading" premiership players...

be interesting if any of these trades go ahead firstly. Perhaps roosy will trade until he has enough to snare all the 30 year olds in the afl, then pull out his white thigh protector and play again himself.

I think its time for crouch to be delisted. I would like them to tell Leo Barry to retire and matthews would be on thin ice.

At least it looks like so far the club is making changes and trying something
Theres not much left to say

Does anyone know the contract status of Crouch and Matthews?

If we de-list them when still under contract, don't their salaries still count against the cap ... and therefore, de-listing solves nothing?

Except that we have two vacancies on our list in which we can put some players with potential....

I think I'm dumber for having read this thread.
And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .

He's made his bed (trading Schneider and Dempster for pick 26 )
Now will he sleep in it? (Delisting Mathews, Crouch)

As mentioned in the main St Kilda trade thread...

I believe Mathews and Crouch are still under contract. Delisting them would mean paying out their contract AND being unable to use that money under the salary cap (someone correct me if I'm wrong, I'm only going on memory here).

The only out is if they retire. Would YOU do it?

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Some on here have been citing salary cap pressures. Could this be the reason? To delist one or both of Mathews or Crouch?

Wasn't that the problem with Voss? He retired but was still on the list and being paid under the salary cap.
