Playfair admits to being a screwup

HENRY Playfair's future with Geelong came down to a missed mark and errant handball two games before this year's finals.
    Nickname:
It came to fruition last week when Sydney secured the man known as "H" with a third-round draft pick.
Playfair admitted he had probably blown his chance with the Cats against Port. "It was my one chance and I had to play well. I didn't. We didn't play that well as a team but I knew my chance had gone," Playfair said.
But is happy to be going to Sydney.

Well, at least he knew he blew his chance. Hopefully it will mean that he has more motivation to do better at at Sydney.

A week later he threw himself into celebrations with the senior players, including Jimmy Bartel, James Kelly, Gary Ablett and Steve Johnson, whom he had started with in 2002.
Ouch!! Now there's a tough group of peers to compare yourself against.... No wonder the kid looks piss poor compared to the players he joined the team with....

but in a hot match a couple of misses sealed the popular clubman's fate.
Great... another great clubman.... Is that AFL code for "@@@@ player but top bloke"?

If I recall correctly, B2 was a dud from Brisvegas who never got any game time and couldn't really prove himself.

I'll give him three games - then make up my mind.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I wouldn't call him a dud, more unproven due to limited game time.

Not quite, but I get your drift.

It's when they get "Cleanest shoelaces" that we need to start really worrying.
