There we're plenty of other players that should have been moved on before Schneider and Dempster.

Aren't we still aiming for a Premiership next year? Schneids and Dempster would help with that more than some of the duds still hanging around.

Sure there could have been many more players moved on other than Scheinder & Dempster based on just pure ability alone but the decision by the club had nothing to do with ability alone.

The club would take into account the players future chances of playing senior football, salary cap restrictions, similar players already on the list, team structure and whether they would get anything of substance for them.

If you look at Dempster in isolation he was suited to a role already played by Kennelly and Malceski and with the addition of Mattner and hopefully the development of Laidlaw, he was clearly surplus to requirments.

While we may see players such as Bevan and Mathews as duds the facts are they play a role within the team at present which is viewed as important to our structure, so they stay. Hopefully with the development of our younger players bext year we will be in a position to move players like Bevan and Mathews.
